Network Solutions is a bait and switch web hosting and domain name sales company.  They offer domain names at $.99 cents per domain name, but when I received my credit card bill it was for $37.00 per domain name.  I called to complain and was told the $.99 cents was NOT available for the domain names I had chosen.  I explained that the person I spoke to confirmed that $.99 cents was the amount I would be charged.  Regardless they would not credit back my credit card and if I wanted to keep those names I would have to pay $37.00 per name.  As you can imagine this really pissed me off, if I wanted to keep those names I could not dispute the charges.  So I kept the names and looked for another company to host them for me.

After a while I contacted Network Solutions to transfer the hosting to another company.  Network Solutions provided transfer numbers which I gave to the new hosting company.  However, the transfer numbers did not work!  I contacted Network Solutions at least three more times and got new transfer numbers that all did not work and was unable to transfer the web hosting away from Network Solutions.  It became intolerable and very time consuming to continue getting transfer numbers that did not work.  So I resigned myself to letting Network Solutions to host my web sites.  I knew I was dealing with despicable and unscrupulous people and I could not do anything about it.

What happen next is incredible; the domain names expired.  Network Solutions never sent a reminder to renew the hosting fees and took back the names.  When I found out what had happened, of course I was outraged, called Network Solutions and they were will the sell back the names for $300.00 each.

If this complaint saves one person from doing business with Network Solutions and getting screwed as I did, it was worth writing!

We tried to move my domain hosting to another company and we had so many problems.  I gave the transfer codes multiple times to my hosting company, they charged me for transfers so I thought everything was okay... but it wasn't.  I found out several months later that the domains never were handed over by Network Solutions and I had lost three VERY GOOD DOMAIN NAMES!!!!  I was pissed to say the least... but my troubles were just starting thanks to Network Solutions.  THey told me that they would check into it and try to get the domains back, but they claimed that another company took them and if I wanted them back I would have to pay THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!!!

WHat they didn't say is that they are the third party that ownes my domains, and if I want them back I have to pay... I decided that the price was too steep for my company so I just missed out on them...  I equate this to THEFT!!!

I would never ever do business with this company again.  NEVER!
