“Within the body of this complaint there is a mention of American Income Life Insurance Company.   Although our company does offer no cost Child Safe kits to consumers and they are endorsed by three different professional organizations, American Income has no affiliation with NDI who the complaint is against and the issues outlined in the report are not related to our company.”

NDI, Inc. hired me to work at events around the central Florida area. They informed me that they were giving away Free Child Safe kits and they were endorsed by the police. (Namely, the International Police Association (IPA)). A small team of reps attend public events and scour the event for parents who didnt have a child ID kit and sign them up for it. They take their name, address and phone number and tell them that they "will receive your kit(s) in 2 to 3 weeks. What they don't tell the parent is that they will be called by American Income Life to determine if they have a checking or savings account and if so, they will send a high pressure insurance sales person to the parent's door using the Child ID kit as the way to get inside the house.

They are also telling people and it is displayed on the director's business card, that they are endorsed by the IPA, International Police Association. They are NOT. They are endorsed by the IUPA which is the International UNION of Police Associations which is part of the AFL-CIO. It seems the AIL, American Income Life, has a subsidiary in NY state that caters to ONLY the IUPA and that's the reason they endorse this "kit". No other police organizations endorse this kit from this company.

This company, NDI, also claims to pay their "employees, $1 per card they have filled out at each event. The director says she will pay minimum wage if the rep doesn't collect enough cards to equal minimum wage. I worked for 6 1/2 hours on Saturday 5/12/12 and I was told I would roughly make $18.00. I know I collected at least 40 cards, but $18 is not even close to minimum wage. I was terminated when I questioned why I cannot find out how much I made. I was told I have to wait until the 15th or the 30th of the month. I persisted so they gave in and gave me a figure. The director also never had any of her "employees" fill out the required documentation, ie; W4, I-9 etc... Nor did the director ever look at my ID or take my SS#.
