This company uses a ton of illegal and/or unethical activities.

1. They solicit business via the use of an auto dialer which calls thousands of people daily and does one of two things. If the person answers the phone their auto dialer hangs up. 7 out of 10 people will call back to see who called them, which gives their sales people a chance to sell the unsuspecting home owner some of their services. If the person does not answer the machine will leave a message saying they have a government credit for their mortgage but it is only valid for 24 hours. Then the home owner calls back and they try to convince him or her to pay for their services.

2. They prey on unsuspecting home owners and sell them a dream. They tell them they can lower their payment by 60-70%. They charge them $2,000-$6,000. Then when they can't modify they tell them to go kick rocks.

3. They are not SB-94 compliant. Senate Bill 94 states that no loan mod company is allowed to charge California home owners an upfront fee. The same law might exist in other states too.

4. They use all kinds of sales tricks to get people's money with the promise of a refund if things don't work out but the truth is that they won't give back most of the fees claiming their costs were high. They charge $500 for processing, $350 for paperwork and the rest is miscallenous fees.

5. They even had to change their name from Negative Equity Relief to New Hope Financial because of the above.

Home owners beware!

Instead of these scammers turn to a reputable company or to HUD or NACA.

Update about Jim James Becker and New Hope Financial

To Whom it may concern:

Jim James (Stephen) Becker, dba New Hope Financial, had recieved a Desist and Refrain order from the Department of Real Estate, California. Order # is H-38766 LA. It was filed March 19, 2013 by the Department of Real Estate. It was found that he violated code section 10130. With a proper search on google you should find the entire order and conclusions. He is not allowed to handle such transactions. If you have a good eye and you read teh rebuttal here and the realted complaint he filed  about the employee, you would see that he used the same exact language, so he filed that other complaint just to seek revenge. In any case, this is teh evidence that whoever filed this complaint here, was 100% correct and even more. Please read the order, it might help any court case you might have.

Have a great day,

Response to a disgruntled agent

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

We, New Hope Financial feel the need to address this untruthful post that was written by an unethical employee, Eve Rand a.ka. Nanda Duyssou who was let go because of her own unacceptable tactics.

We will address every malicious statement that was posted here by number:

1. we use a dialer and call people that have requested help.  There are thousands of people that need help, and its impossible to get to all of them using a standard method.  We use technology to be able to talk with as many people as we can, considering so many people are in dire need of help.

2. we don't promise any guaranteed payment to homeowners.  we estimate a payment based on the information they give us.  Once we have a full file in our processing department, we will confirm the new payment based on what the lender offers.  This is clearly stated in our contract.

3. We are not modifying mortgage loans in California, and therefore do not fall under those guidelines.

4. we have a 100% money back guarantee that we put in writing, and is clearly stated in our contract.

This is a simple post by a disgruntled agent that was let go because of her unethical tactics to get clients to sign with us, as well as non-performance.  After doing our do diligence, we learned later that she was part of a security company that was basically taking peoples money and not performing.  Considering her history, she simply did not fit in.  You may look her up under Nanda Dyssou.

Please also consider that we have hundreds of clients that have not posted one thing on here about us in a negative way.  That is really what people should be focused on when evaluating our company and services.
