According to a doctor that performed a study on NPR AA has a very low success rate of only 5% to 10% that means for 95% of alcoholics it is a complete waist of time and money. The programs focus seems to be more about people confessing to crimes rather than actually treating addiction.

AA is free!! What does money have to do with this?? And what is a complete "waist" of money mean?? AA asks for donations and the majority of people in AA have stayed sober due to the support system. Don't know where you got your information but this is not a ripoff.

According to Doctor Lance Dodes on NPR website AA or alcoholics Anonymouse has a very low success rate the success rate is only between 5% and 10% so for 95% of people AA is a complete waiste of time and money.
I went to a meeting at this Lutheran Church and it appeared to me that the focus of the twelve stepds was more about confessing to crimes then it was about treating alcoholism. The audience includes undercover police officers and imformants who work for them. Shame on you Lutheran Church.
