New Leaf Associates promised debt termination, credit repair, quoting law statutes, legal venues, and touting BBB and Consumer Affairs documents. All went as stated in the beginning. Then things went down hill, calls started coming, threats, etc. Calls to their offices were returned, and their statements/recommendations followed as they promised. The telephone numbers for New Leaf have a mail box that is "full." Calls to the 800# give you a voice message to leave a message.

Then calls didn't get returned, fax numbers wouldn't were always busy or no answer. Tried the customer service number, and got a return call to my answering machine. Tried to get a live person, but never could. Then tried e-mail address and never got a reply.

Received a letter from the president (form letter) stating things were complicated, but still in process. Then another letter of a similar nature. Couldn't get faxes through so mailed the papers through regular mail.

In the meantime, always following their original instructions. Got two notices from the courts, and now have two judgements against me (which they said would also not be valid when the process is completed). Recently went onto the website, and saw that they are "working with the Attorneys General" and would soon be letting us know when refunds would be coming. That was July 6. Now the website no longer works.

If you go online to look up New Leaf Associates, and try linking through to any of the sites, they come up as "No site found". I guess that means you can't get scammed into signing up through their website anymore.

I went into this aware that this was too good to be true, and figured if this didn't work, bankruptcy was next. I guess it's time to go to the next step.

Seems The Attorney General office in FL is suing New Leaf for deceptive and unfair trade practices. A Pinellas County Court injunction has shut down the business. They have 185 complaints registered. The suit seeks penalties and restitution. If you have a complaint against New Leaf, they say you can call the Attorney General's fraud hotline at 1-866-966-7226 or log onto www.tbo.com, keyword "consumer" to fill out a complaint form.
