I had the same thing happen to me and nothing but empty promises. The VP of construction at New Lineage (Rocky Crigler) even went as far as taking a money from the bank that was never used on the house. The owner William Sorrel said that Rocky had agreed to finish my house and never did. I am out several thousands of dollars and the bank is foreclosing. I hear these same group of crooks are starting up another home building company under a different name. Here are two cell phone numbers I have for both Rocky (972-877-7882)and William(214-317-3536). I also have home addresses some of the contractors gave me when they didn't get paid. I know for a fact their new company is working out of the New Lineage model home in McKinney right now. I can't believe people like this exist and are able to get by with what they are doing.

Just an update that since being left high and dry by the New Lineage group of good ole boys we finally closed on our new house (about 16 months since signing the contract with New Lineage).   Obviously through a different builder who did everything they could to get the house built in a timely manner and bent over backwards to please us.   We finally found a builder who's word meant something and followed up on it.   Great to work with the folks at Highland Homes and it's a sense of relief to know not everybody out there building homes are complete tools.

I'm glad you love your Ranchera built home, no one said they build a bad home.  The problem I have with them is this.... All of the business partners met with me, told me about the New Lineage issue, told me they were going to finish my house, asked me if it would be OK with me if Ranchera finished it, told me everything would remain exactly the same as the contract i had with New Lineage except where New Lineage was would now be Ranchera, too a walk thru my house, took notes, asked me questions about what I wanted, told me what needed to be fixed because it wasn't to their standards, shook my hand, told me they would get started very soon, gave me a copy of a Ranchera Contract signed by their Sales Person for me to look over..........then for weeks we heard nothing..........then we were told in a round about way that Ranchera didn't want to take that house because it would be a loss for them.  But of course they would sell us another lot and start from scratch!  In my neighborhood they have yet to finish a house that was started by New Lineage.  So my problem is with the business practices.  If they had no intentions on finishing my house, they knew that the day you took a look at the bills racking up on that house, they should have told me then.  We asked them that question several times and asked them to be honest.  We could have moved on sooner, less our $10K but at least not have lost more money by dumping it into an apartment, storage, etc!!

Correcting a statement made earlier about the character of the VP of Construction. I have no reason to believe he took money knowingly from the bank and kept it.

I would like to update part of the original report and some of it's information.   As of today I am being threatened by the VP of construction for slander and would like to clear some facts up as I know them.   He is threatening to sue me based on the earlier report that two checks were written to the same supplier for the house.  I was told by the bank that money I had given New Lineage a week or so before they stopped building my house that the bank also cut a check to the VP of Construction for the same supplier for the same materials.  I was told this sitting in the bank President/CEOs office with two other people.   The VP of Construction is now saying that the check he got from the bank was used to pay off earlier materials from the same vendor.  This could be 100% true because as I have learned lately that a lot of the suppliers and contractors were not paid by New Lineage or his buidlers.   WHich is why there is about $70,000 in liens on the house now to deal with.   I have no way to tell what is what because the builder records are elementary at best.   I asked for copies of all contractors used on the house and who was paid versus who wasn't but was never given that.   All I got was the run around and employees speeding away from the house to avoid answering questions.   I see why we were given the run around because of all of the unpaid bills and liens on the house.   At this point I have no choice but take the VP of Construction at his word and move on I guess.   So what I am saying was I screwed over by New Lineage and his builders?  YES, ABSOLUTELY, but the VP of construction could have possibly used that money on a previous owed supplies as he stated.  I have no reason to doubt him or not to believe him this point.   I do not know that the VP took money so PLEASE disregard that from the earlier statement.

However, facts/truth is tons of promises were made by the builder and it's employees and they never held up.    All I got in the end was after several broken promises and the run around was, "sorry partner but I can't finish the house".   As it stands now I am out several 10's of thousands of dollars and over a year of building with this company.   So as I am being threatened I would like to say I have no reason to believe VP took money knowingly from the bank and didn't use it on the house.   The VP is more then welcome to get on here as are the owners of New Lineage and Ranchera to tell there side.   I do know this for sure!  I will NEVER use that builder or any of it's employees again and will do my best to make sure everybody knows what happened and that there are a lot of people that lost money.   There are about $70,000 dollars in liens on the house now from contractors that didn't get paid.   Where did all of the money from the construction loan go?  I don't know but I do know the house sits unfinished and owned by the bank at this point.  Thanks New Lineage!   Maybe the owner or the same people that are threatening me can explain it.

As to the update from a Ranchera home buyer......It is real odd they are using the same model in McKinney as New Lineage did and that the picture gallery had New Lineage for sale signs in there yards.   They have since been removed but I have them saved and can email them to you if you would like.

Ranchera is not New Lineage

#5

Fri, August 21, 2009

I am a customer of Ranchera and did much research before signing my contract with Ranchera.  Rocky and Will do not have anything to do with Ranchera.  I checked the financhials and they are not even listed as an employee.  The owners of the company are Scott and John.  They are from Austin and are expanding to this area.  They had nothing to do with New Lineage.  I think you got confused because a sales associate that worked for New Lineage now works for Ranchera.  This person is a sales associate and not a vested owner in Ranchera.  Ranchera has been around for years before New Lineage was even formed.  Ranchera was trying to help out the New Lineage house owners and was going to take over the model home in McKinney that New Lineage used.  They have now decided that this is not best since people are really upset with New Lineage and are trying to link the two.  I really do feel sorry for your loss but lets not give someone a bad name that does not deserve it. I am a happy Ranchera and will be willing to show the quality of my house to anyone who is interested in Ranchera.  Thanks.
