New Merchant Service ripoff Mount Pocono Pennsylvania
This company made promises that "a team of consultants" would help me to make money selling on online auctions if I leased their credit card machine. They deduct fees from my checking account each month.
What they don't disclose is extra fees that equate to over 100.00 / month. They promised if my business failed, which it did, they would buy back my lease. This is why I signed on... the promise of consultation AND if it failed, I'm out of my lease. I did exaclty what they said and posted auctions EVERY DAY.
What happened? Nothing. Didn't sell a thing. The only thing I got was about 200 phishing scam attempts. 98% of the people that bid on the items I place in auction are trying to steal my identity. I explained this to the company for months that I need that great counseling they have been promising me.
I got a total of 2 phone calls the entire time and they were absolutely useless. Now I tell them since they wont help me out like they promised, and since I am now out over 1100.00 in listing fees, to close down and buy my lease back like they promised. They are telling me, sure, but it's going to cost 250.00 extra for us to do that. They did NOT disclose that to me.
Something must be done.

What did you do to finally close your lease? I paid the $250 early cancellation fee and after that I never heard back from any of the NMS representatives, no matter how many emails or phone calls I made. I will continue to doubt that the author rebutted himself unless I get written proof of the steps that he took and the results of this process. Until then I will continue to fight on and tell everyone to stay away from entering into any contracts with New Merchant Services and / or American P.O.S.
Very truly yours,

After i had posted my first auction i found out about paypal so much for the promise to buy me out. I have not heard from my contact since February 9th via the same powerpoint prensation i just wish my parters would have notified me of Nigerian Scammers who impersonate federal agents who threaten to have me arestted if i do not comply.

Jeff, I don't know anything about this company, have never dealt with them, etc. But I want to commend you for updating your report. Most people don't. And, after reading what you wrote, I probably would be more inclinded to have dealings with this company (if I were the market). But again, thanks for the update.
I think too many people just write stuff here and then never update what the company did afterwards to try to rectify the problem. You did, you made the effort and were seemingly honest, so kudos to you.

An update on my personal dealings with New Merchant Services

If you read my previous article, you will see that there were some very valid reasons for me to be concerned that this company was not legitimate.
After dealing with them, I am here to report that they have kept their promise and cancelled my lease as they promised.
Do I believe personally that they are scamming people?
No.
Do they need to maybe change they way they are doing things?
Yes.
Now that they have kept their promise and cancelled my lease, it would not be fair for myself, or anyone else to assume the worst of them. There are other complaints out there, but I think maybe those people just didn't take the right steps necessary and they were definitely too quick to assume the worst. It is much easier to point fingers and cry "scam", than look deeper into the situation, do a little research and find the truth. It's called "ethics". Look it up.
I believe New Merchant Services may just have too many contracts to handle, and not enough workforce to support their workload. This is why there are a few people that may not get the support they need to succeed, which is now what I believe happened to me. Just one of the unlucky few.
Should there be a class Action Lawsuit?
Well.... you can all try, but I will have no part of it, as I do not think it would be a wise thing to do, as they have established themselves as a legitimate business.
