New Tech Shading SunShield International Liars fraudulent claims that umbrellas will withstand 30 mph wind. Not true and they cannot be located for repairs. false promises Miami Florida
Purchased a 10' single sidearm deck umbrella from this company at the Atlantic City boat show in 2002. The product looked good and was sold as able to withstand winds up to 30 mph. Well, this proved to be a lie, as the first breeze broke the two support arms and almost cause personal injury. Got initial run around during phone calls to Miami and then could not even get anyone on the phone. Next, the phone was disconnected and the company left town.
This umbrella cost over $500.00 and I have no way to get replacement parts. Seems like the same person was listed as the owner of NewTech and SunShield, but neither can be found. They will probably spring back under some other company name, to continue the dishonest selling. Mailed complaints to BBB in Florida and wrote to the Consumer Product Protection Agency, no help there either.
