Since I go to college right across from the Cooper Square NYHRC, I decided to check it out and browse. Once you step in and I mentioned I was thinking of joining, oh my god, was I given the "almighty wonderful tour of this state-of-the-art" facility. I swear, the nicest person I've ever met was the consultant, BUT DONT BE FOOLED. That's the trick, everyone is extremely nice, and I was told I get a free trainer session as a first time courtesy, then i was taken to the Juice bar and I was treated to one of their "delicious" smoothie mixes (coffee and banana?---never again, eww) but it was free. It was only $100 a month, special student pricing (so they said) and since I was working part time then, I was like wow, its not bad for nyc. Until after 3 months I got bored and wanted to cancel. While the manager or head was talking to me about the contract while I was sipping away at the juice bar,(even the bar guy was flirty) trying to butter me up and commenting on my fun sense of style, being an art student and all, (ha), never did he mention their cancellation policy during our contract chat, but i was stupid and forgot to ask also, and I figured since I was a student, it wouldn't be that tough an issue since most students live out of state and only dorm during the school year.

So when i tried to cancel, since classes are over and I won't be in the city as often I was told the only way would be if I moved or extremely sick with a doctor's official report, but "lucky" me, I reside in NJ, and to them, apparently it's not far enough and their gym is still accessible to commute to. So i had to cal up some family out of state, ask for favors...and I did my thing. I got arpound it, but it still hurts I had to pay about 500 of unused gym time. NEVER AGAIN...its workout dvds and wii fit from now on!
