Newegg.com False advertising Black November promotions Internet
On 11/20/15 I was getting ready to order a laptop off of Newegg's website and a few hours later the price had jumped up $200.00 so I didn't order it. Later that day I found a Newegg Black November promo webpage that states
"Spot a lower price on Newegg during BLACK NOVEMBER and we will match it. If you spot a lower price during our Black November, contact us."
There was no "exclusions apply or must have purchased the item previously" type of wording. Just what I typed above. Here's the link but it will be gone in a day or two once the promo is over.
I called customer service and then escalated to a supervisor. I told them it was very misleading and probably false advertising as they wouldn't offer me the laptop at the lower price that it was previously advertised for on their site. The supervisor even agreed that it was misleading and said she was going to talk to the advertising department. She told me the price will probably come down during the "Black November" event and I should keep an eye out.

Hello Marty,
Thank you for taking the time to post this. I’m so sorry to hear that the laptop you were interested in went up in price and the price match was not honored. I would like to review this issue to see why you were denied and to see what more we can do for you. If possible, please email us the item’s Item# to wecare@newegg.com.
Thanks,
-Mike (Newegg Support)
