I'm writing this to share my frustrating experience with Newegg. I have been fairly new to this merchant and already had an unpleasant experience regarding a rebate issue. I bought a Powertek case from them back in July for $80 because of the rebate advertised on their site for $40. After buying the case, I mailed the rebate with all the requirements. As with most rebates with the 12 week max waiting period I waited that long & waited more and got nothing. I have been writing Newegg since after that to help me and all they will say is they're sending it to their investigating department. After quite some time of not hearing from them, I emailed them again & only did they respond & said the company that I bought the case went bankrupt in June. Why then advertise a rebate on their website for a rebate in July then? They're also at fault here for that. As I said earlier that's the only reason I bought the case is for that rebate, I feel cheated. I then complained to them about that, they then gave me supposedly the new company's email for rebates & also told me that they'll help me if I don't get anything from that new company; that Newegg will just pay the rebate should the company that sold the item failed to deliver. Other customers also said they'll do that, the reason also other customers bought this computer case (I wonder though if they all got they're rebate too) I Contacted the new company 2 or 3 times and I still get nothing. Emailed Newegg again for the nth time and told them to just pay me the rebate themselves & was told with the same generic response that they're sending it to the investigating team...again! At this time it's very obvious they're just giving me the run around. The first time I've contacted them was in October, it's already December and I'm still struggling to get this rebate.
