Newegg.com RIPOFF RETURNED A PROCCESSOR AND FAN - WRAPPED PROCCESSOR WELL IN PAPER AND ATTACHED TO OUTSIDE OF WRAP AROUND FAN - WHEN THEY RECEIVED IT THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME AT ALL AND AFTER A MONTH I CONTACTED THEM AND TO DATE THEY SAY IT WAS NOT RECEIVED AND ONLY REPLACED THE FAN - THIS WAS A BIG FINANCIAL LOSE AND HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE AND NOT FROM NEWEGG.COM La Puente California
I RETURNED A NEW PROCESSOR AND FAN TO NEWEGG.COM BECAUSE THE PROCESSOR WAS BAD. I WRAPED THE FAN AND THEN WRAPPED THE PROCESSOR WELL IN PAPER AND ATTACHED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE WRAPPED FAN. WHEN THEY RECEIVED IT FIRST OF ALL THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME TELLING ME ANYTHING WAS MISSING. AFTER A MONTH I DECIDED TO CONTACT THEM AND THE SAID THE PROCESSOR WAS MISSING. TO DATE THEY INSIST IT WAS NOT IN PACKAGE AND I INSIST THEY MISS PLACE THE SMALL ITEM WHEN UNWRAPPING FAN. FINNALY THEY DID REPLACE THE FAN, BUT I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW PROCESSOR AND NOT FROM NEWEGG.COM. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANY FROM THEM AGAIN AND ADVISE OTHER'S TO BEWARE, BECAUSE THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE ISSUE FOR ME - AND NEWEGG WAS NOT AT ALL COURTEOUS OR EMPATHETIC, AND OF COURSE SAID THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT BEFORE IT REACHED THEM, WHEN THE PROB IS THEY MISS PLACED OR EVEN THROUGH AWAY THE WRAP AND DID NOT NOTICE THIS PROCESSOR ATTACHED TO THE FAN.

Now, while they should have contacted you...
You didn't just wrap a processor up in *paper*, and send it in, did you? Processors are HIGHLY ESD sensative. Doing this, I would tend to think you were the cause of the processor no longer being functional.
NIB/Retail processors can always easily put back in their packaging. OEM processors do not come with a fan (so you must have gotten retail), so I fail to see why paper would ever be involved.
