I applied for several loans during the month of December, 2006. I was attempting to pay off a few back debts and finish up my christmas shopping. I was contacted by Newport Lending group, advising me that I would be able to obtain a loan for $7200 dollars. The man on the phone told me that I was to pay for my first 5 months of the loan upfront, a total of $840 dollars. I would sent it by money gram at walmart to a lady in canada. after the money was received, I would be fed exed my loan by the following morning. I asked the man to fax over paperwork to me showing me the stipulations of the loan and the legal requirements.

after I received the paperwork, it stated that I was to make an upfornt payment, and the loan payments after this would begin july 1, 2007. I was to pay $168 dollars a month at 7% interest. I called in from work the day i was to receive my loan, and borrowed money from a friends girlfriend to make the upfront payment. I NEVER received my money. I called the company to complain, only to have the lending group hang up on me 15 times. That only managed to make me more irate, so I continued to call back over and over until the man told me that he would mail me a refund of my $840 dollars and I would have it in my mailbox by january 2, 2007. I even asked to speak to a manager, and the man told me he was. So I asked who hired him, he refused to tell me and hung up on me again.

I waited an extra day due to the presidents death closing the postal services. still no money. so I proceeded to call the company back, only to hear this recording..."your personal account has been put on hold, please contact customer service. goodbye." and it hangs up. not contact information,no return numbers, nothing. so now I am in debt to a friend almost a grand, with no check in the mail and now way to contact the company. I get online today, only to find out that the better business bureau searching I did just 2 weeks ago and did not show this, is now slammed with reports of this company stealing everyones money. well I say none of us let this fraudulent company get away with this. we are all owed money and we WILL get it back, no matter how high up the court chain we need to go. theives are theives, no matter how they pose...these people just chose to pose as a company.
