Complaint Review: Newtown Electronics

Approximately 6 months ago Newtown electronics was utilized to install stereo and intercom electronic equipment throughout a residence.  They did provide a fair price but misrepresented the features of the systems installed.  Some components were wired incorrectly and proper weather proofing of outdoor components was not performed.

They did attempt to correct the wiring errors however further wiring correction was required.  They declined to complete the additional wiring and remedy the problems.

The wiring correction was not a big job and only required changing wired connections on the main electronics panel.  No additional supplies or equipment was required, only approximately 30 minutes of labor which they declined.

Also, outdoor components were not properly sealed and weatherproofed and as a result were damaged by the elements.  Rain caused outdoor units to short and malfunction.  Newtown electronics refused to inspect the situation and instead suggested that other electricians should be consulted.

If you do decided to use Newtown Electronics be sure to confirm everything in writing.  Also, dont let them leave the premises until you are satisfied that all work was performed properly.

I now have to pay another electrician to correct their wiring mistakes and replace the damaged outdoor units that were not sealed.

Newtown Electronics (Dave) has failed to reply to several voice messages.
