For those poor people out there looking for a legit work at home position. This is not it. Be very careful..the recruiters who contact you can sugar coat anything, they have been taught to lie very well. They are taking $29.95 for a "security deposit" on you making your first 100 calls. They do this because they know that most people won't follow through when they realize that they are cold calling and being paid $4 per lead and not 50 per enrollment as they were told in their interview.

So there goes your 29.95 if you don't do those first 100 "calls." Be careful with that wording too everyone..it's not actually 100 calls..it's 100 presentations...which means you need to actually speak to 100 people. Doesn't sound hard right..not until you actually get on the phone with the horrible numbers they provie you to solicit people. Then there is the monthly access code fee of $18.95.

Now this is the most interesting part...see the majority of the people coming into this scam of a company are being put on an "automatic dialer" which means the calls are actually not being made by your home number anyhow. So why would you be paying for an access code that is not even needed...and please don't think it's for the supposed 500 minutes of personal use. Your lucky if you get those by the time your first month is up with them.
Then your advancement opportunities..wow aren't they wonderful. Lucky you..you can go ahead and hire people into this farce of a company but all you are really doing is misleading someone into thinking they can make a living here and taking money of theirs.

Then there is sales/enrollment...where you actually enroll these poor people into this horrendous plan that they try to pump up. Do you know that most of the people who have the "plan" can't even use it at the pharmacies that are listed in the providers they supply. So here's the fun part of enrollment...you go ahead and call numbers that NHCD provides you..by the way..most of them are anywhere from 3-5 years old and you'll find there are quite a few of these "leads" that are already deceased.

So if you are lucky enough to get enrollments you are paid $50. But beware...if that person gets their packet and tries it and is not satisfied...they have 90 days to supposedly get their money back. So if they cancel in the 90 days..your $50 is gone. You didn't get paid a penny.

Know what is even better...guess how long that poor person you enrolled is going to wait to get their money back? Until NHCD feels like giving it to them..if ever. They have a great way of taking cash from people but a real hard time giving it back. The people who have the "access codes" on their lines who decide to quit and cancel. They got hired on the phone and boy those recruiters took their money pretty easily. Know what it takes to get it back...they have to write a letter to the main office and hope that someone is honest enough to actually stop taking their money. However, there are all kinds of ways around that too aren't there. Oops I never got that cancelation...3, 4, 5 months later...sorry never saw a letter..please have them resend it.

So for months these poor people haven't even been working for the company but NHCD has continued to take money from their checking account and put it right into their pocket.

There are so many things that are corupt about this company and these are only a few. Please, please, please rethink your position if you are considering working with them.

Booker, I was a SUCCESSFUL MANAGER with NHCD. I left on my own terms, did MORE than a days work and make three times more now working at home than I did then. I left when I realized how their scam works. You're using the typical recruiting BS statement "Those who don't make money aren't working." I've heard that so many times. Don't make uneducated, foolish statements when the very experienced past NHCD folks, with inside info I might add, are just around the corner from you.

Do your math, put on your thinking cap and absorb what you're doing. You aren't helping anyone with this so-called wonderful job you have.

I am still working for NHCD I am very happy. My checks are in my mail boxes every Monday ! I am a recuiter we are told not to lie to the person that we are speaking to about the job. I think that any company has EX-EMPLOYEE WHO are not happy . IF you had did a honest days work you would have got a honest days pay. Know one gives you anything for Free when you are working a job you must work for it. As for the 29.95 I recived my deposit back, as for the 18.95 a month that is $5 a week to go to work. I do not know any wher you could go to work and only speend $5 a week you would nedd gas and lunch money !!!

The only thing I have to say Shawn is this:

If NHCD is so concerned for the elderly and providing prescription coverage, then WHY is the company so focused on moving people into recruiting? Think about it--one week in leads then move to recruiting. Why? They need people!! They make the majority of their money from their reps!! The access code costs then nothing to provide. Yes, that's very true. Most outbound work from home companies charge nothing to their reps and guess what? They don't have to shove recruiting down their reps throats to keep them afloat.

I wish you the best of luck and we'll shortly welcome you to the "Burned by NHCD" club with open arms.

Hi everyone. I agree with Melissa 100%. Even though not all the bad stuff she said did happen to me, I will say that I got loads and loads of really bad leads......
Another thing is that after I told them that I don't want to work for that company ever again, they still owe money to my boyfriend's mom which after I cancelled it.

So in my personal opinion, it was a waste of time and money for me. Long story short, after I quit, a girl who did worked there not too long ago told me that NHCD had the leads department wiped out but so glad that I didn't got sucker again like I did once.
I worked there less than a month which I was lucky to get that money back but the one after I let them know that I quit, they didn't even pay me back for what they did. The Randa manager was somewhat lousy in my personal opinion.

Gloria,

So glad it is working out for you..give it time..things change and after being there for years you should already know that. They change things every week...and sometimes even daily. Getting your paychecks mailed out weekly is just great isn't it? As long as it doesn't bounce. Also depending on how long you have been working with them you are either being held back two weeks or three weeks for each of your paychecks. The newer reps are being held back only two weeks because they want to try to keep them. Interesting that they are more interested in keeping the newer people coming in than taking care of the people who have busted their butts for them for years. I forgot to mention that before..back when they had to pay out on their law suit they also decided that they were going to "skip" pay periods for everyone. Not just managers either, the poor lead reps who work for measley money had to miss a paycheck also. First and foremost, holding back anything more than 2 weeks pay is totally ILLEGAL and they are currently being investigated. Secondly, there was no notice..and Gloria..if you have been there for 2 years you know this happened because it happened to you also. Then they were going to start paying people back their missed pay each week beginning with the letters of the alphabet. Are you kidding me..come on. What kind of company does that? Week 1 the people whose last names began with A&B were supposed to have their checks mailed out so they would be caught back up, week 2 C&D, and so on. The hilarious thing is that it NEVER happened unless you had your head so far up someone in admins butt that they got you on the list and got you caught up. I know plenty of people still working with NHCD who are three weeks behind in pay right now because NHCD cannot live up to their word.

As far as 86 posts..that is too funny. Try checking ALL of their aliases..you'll find a majority of them under National Health Care Discount, NHCD, flutternet, ASI, global home sourcing, and that's only a few. They change their name a lot so that people can't find them on rip off report. Good luck with them.

Satisfied with NHCD

#30UPDATE Employee

Sat, April 29, 2006

I have not experienced any of the negative actions you are referring to. First of all when I applied to NHCD 2 years ago, I was looking for a JOB that I could do from home. After being ripped off and scammed by other so-called legitimate work from home companies, I was fortunate enough to find NHCD.

I paid my refundable fee, which I did get back after meeting the qualifications, and am more than happy with the $18.95 per month fee for the access code. I have never paid more than that for all the long distance calls I make every month including the ones out of state for personnal use. As a matter of fact I am saving money using their access code. And creating a lucritive income as well.

I am by no means getting rich with NHCD, but I was not getting rich working 9-5 either. Plus, with the cost of gas, I figure I am probably making at least $60.00-$100.00 per week just staying home and not burning gas or wasting 2-3 hrs in traffic to go to a job I hated doing anyway. Add that amount to the weekly check I receive and I am probably in the top percentage wise of anyone in corporate america.
I am truly sorry for the bad experiences you have had with NHCD. (If what you are saying is true)
The plans are very good and free to the associates. For someone without insurance, you can not find a better offer anywhere, I have looked.

Most of the training, I will admit, is not in detail. Therefore it is your responsibility to ask questions and learn. If you are not willing to learn, there is no reason you will succeed in this business. Some people need to be told and shown exactly what to do on a daily basis. That is why I look for people with a high degree of intelligence.

Bottom line, A job is what you make it!!!!!
NHCD supplies everything you need to WORK from home. It is entirely up to you to do the job and be compensated for your efforts. If you give up after a little resistence, then this is not the job for you.

But again, where else can you work from home, have everything supplied to you, including a web site, secure server, answers to all your questions, free training, and have your check mailed every week, based on your performance, and not have to pay $3.00 per gallon of gas to go to work to pay for your gas????

If you can find it somewhere else, then by all means go there. Do not continue to stay somewhere that you believe is not for you.
But is does seem strange that there are only 86 entries on a company that has been in business since 1989, don't ya think?? And a lot of them by the same people?

Do your research, then make a well informed decision. For me, NHCD is a win, win, situation.
In reference to the auto-dialer, this is for the lead generation department. Once you go to personnel, you make your own calls using the code. But you know there is one thing here I need to ask. Is there a job anywhere in the world that you can work at without investing something? No matter what work force you join, you have to buy the correct clothes or shoes to meet the dress code. Or to be able to stand all day on your feet, or let's not forget about the gas, oil, and wear and tear on your car, if you can afford one. Or the bus ticket, subway pass, cab ride, carpool, etc, etc. If you don't want to do this then go somewhere else.

Fri, April 28, 2006

Shawn... first of all you delusional boy..you have no idea who I am. I have worked with this hell hole of a company for well over 8 months. I have done EVERYTHING they "requested" to get my paychecks..

their crappy leads for crappy pay, their horrible recruiting where you lie to people to get them to work with them and take their money and don't hesitate to keep taking it after they quit, sold their "free plan" (yep that's right people... you can get their wonderful discount prescription plan for free.. but not enough people know that so NHCD preys on them). I've managed plenty of people that came into NHCD and let me tell you I had to stop when people kept asking me if this was a legit company, if I liked what I was doing, and if you could really make money at it. I can't lie to people that actually come into NHCD looking for a real job. Do you have a conscience? It doesn't bother you that NHCD can't even afford to provide their "managers" with toll free conference lines for the new "associates" "training." Please.... someone has blown so much smoke up your butt that you can't even see straight. It's okay though Shawn. Wait until you get a delivery from Fedex and then a phone call (after you get the fedex package) that ooops your check bounced. Read some more of these reports.. how many people have posted that have had their paychecks bounce. It's not an isolated incident. Also... did you know that when the company started having all these cash flow issues last year it just so happened to be around the time they were ordered to pay all sorts of cash out to prior managers who sued their sorry butts because of their horrible practices? Naivity is so nice isn't it. Oh here.. here's another one for you.... they changed banks back around that time also because they have bounced so many paychecks that even Wal-Mart won't cash them... come on now..
I anxiously await your response for this Shawn.

NHCD EXPERIENCED WRONG DOING

#30UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, April 27, 2006

Firstly, Shawn I commend you on upholding your position as a "personnel" recruiter... however unless a company is 100% employee based you are not a "personnel" recruiter. IC's rule at NHCD. I left as a Sales Manager after 2 years and not on a happy note. I was "let go" by email! The reason??? I'll share!

Sales Sr Management grew tired of my questioning of why leads were non-workable, why I was loosing Sales Reps, when we could expect our first bi-weekly checks (that's when they changed payroll paydates several years ago) I never received answers...emails after emails were sent...no answers. My checks ranged from $400-$500 a week and a few around $700. That figured dropped to $100???? or maybe if I was lucky $150! That's how bad the leads were.

One 3 occassions my checks were lost in the mail...one being over $700! It took them 4 weeks to start processing for replacement. I had to ask them if they wanted me to quit...then finally I received a phone call from the head man owner himself telling me that the check was being overnighted to me. As time went on, they obviously got tired of my questions.... sorry but I treated this as a JOB not a game. Then one Monday morning I opened my emails and there was my termination "email".... how absurd. I've never heard of a company firing a manager be email, they didn't have the courtesy of my manager at least calling.

So yes, I understand and agree with all the facts that I read here. I had good times on my job but it got bad for reasons I can't explain or even know. They have lost so many good managers that were with them for years so that in itself should tell a story and warn people that something is very wrong. I miss my position my 'GOOD TIMES' I had but I was treated very wrong only because I was trying to do my job right.

I am a recruiter at National Health Care Discounts and I would like to set the record straight. I have this job because I believe in what I do. Seniors should not have to worry about whether they eat or pay for their prescriptions every day. Unfortunatly many have that same concern.

NHCD is providing a real service to these people who choose them as their discount plan. I am also very proud to give women a chance to be at home with their children and still earn a living. This company has given me all those things and more. I have never had a problem getting my check. Think about it, Checks go out Fridays, You get them the next week. With any job, the first week is always a little bit late due to processing. If you start and earn your first paycheck on Thursday, you are still being processed. I explain that every first check takes an extra week but the next week and subsequent weeks theron you will get a check every week on time.

As far as the deposit goes, yes there is a depostit and for good reason. The access code is 18.95 the deposit is only 11.00, giving a total of 29.95. the deposit is refunded after the first 100 calls, not presentations. This deposit is because after your first week of lead generating you typically do not use an auto dialer.

I myself use my home phone and the access code is perfect. I call all over the country and have never seen these calls on my phone bill. The acess code gives you a business code and a personal one. It took all of 1 day for the business code and 3 days for the personal code. It was actually cheaper than my regular plan for unlimited long distance through my phone company, therfore it saved me money.

I also know all about your situation, Some people are not well spoken and cannot talk to people well. Tell the trueth, you just did not do well at this job. Many people tried to help you and you were mad because you sucked. You could have transfered, why didn't you. We pride ourselves on the chance to work in any or as many departments as you want.

You are not stuck in a department you are not successfull at. You stayed employed with us for 8 months and did not successfully complete a task. Shame on you for bashing a good company to work for. Yes, everone gets mad at their job once in a while, but you went too far. tsk tsk tsk; for shame.

I have a great manager, a great job, a great paycheck and an easy mind because I know that my job is real and it helps many seniors who cannot afford their food and medicine. I am making a difference. What are you doing, other than wasting time being mad and complaining?

My name is Shawn and I am proud to work for NHCD. I am a personnel Recruiter.

NHCD aka Global Home Sourcing AKA ASI aka Galaxy Health Savings Plan..what won't they do for money

Well it just gets better and better doesn't it. Now not only do they have at least 4 other aliases to work under they are adding yet another. That's right folks... Galaxy Health Savings Plan. And for a mere $52 a month PLUS $97 registration fee these poor unknowing people out there are going to get suckered yet again. Look at their (cough) guarantee (cough)
"Of course, if you are not completely satisfied, we offer a no risk membership. Because we initially enroll by phone check or major credit card, you may cancel within 45 days and receive an immediate 100% guaranteed credit refund.

After 45 days, you can discontinue your service at any time by calling our toll free number."
And last but certainly not least..
"Referral Promo!

Also, before we hang up, NHCD has an excellent referral program. If you refer 3 people to me and they enroll by (1 month from now), you and your family will receive your 2 months of Galaxy Health membership absolutely free!
Who do you know that could benefit from the Galaxy Health Savings Plan?"

There are no ethics at this company..none at all.

Your correct your pay goes out each Friday, after they have held back your first two weeks (or three weeks...depending on what they feel like at the time ~ which is another separate matter) and only if it is over $20.00. If your first weeks check isn't $20 or more it won't even get mailed out until the 3rd week. Which means most of you won't get your first check for almost a month and then it will be a whole big whopping $20-30 if you are lucky. As far as the 90 days goes..ever heard of charge backs?

If you are dumb enough to stay with the company for that long and working in the sales/enrollment department. Imagine this... you work your first week in sales get a $50 enrollment check two weeks later. Continue working with them for a month or so and it just so happens that your original sale canceled... guess what.. if you had another enrollment that week.. you will even out at a big fat 0 as they will take that $50 as a chargeback. Also, if you are one of the lucky ones whose checks actually clear. That's right..most of the "associates" have been so fortunate to have fedex show up on their doorstep to replace a check that has bounced from wonderful NHCD and this has been happening for months. It was supposedly fixed back in October but no such luck. Great company huh. It definitely sounds like you haven't been here long enough to really get it. Have you tried calling the leads in the "enrollment" department. You're calling leads that are 3-5 years old easily...wait till you call your first one that has been deceased for 2+ years..maybe then you'll wake up.

Regarding the 100 calls...better review your contract again. It is not 100 "calls," it's 100 presentations. You actually have to speak to 100 people. Which sounds easy enough right..that's if you don't get so frustrated in your first two days when you see the kinds of people you are talking to that you give up. Unless your manager sugar coats it's nicely for you and encourages you to stay. What a joke. I can't beleive people are still standing up for this company. Do you want to know what the funniest part about the leads department is..that the head honchos actually want the lead reps who have worked here 1-2 weeks to be able to earn more money than their managers just to try to lure them into staying. Doesn't that sound a little odd to anybody out there.

Managers who have been here 2,3,4,5+ years have been taking major pay cuts for the past 7-8 months and bust their butts...and are supposed to try to encourage our reps to "smile and dial," and make more money than we do. Tell me that sounds right in any way.

Lastly, doesn't it seem a little odd that you are paying $29.95 for a deposit, and $18.95 for an access code when most of the people are on automatic dialers now and the phone calls are actually coming into your line. Why on earth would you be paying an access code fee for calls you aren't even dialing (but I'm sure they know how to spin that too). Except for the conference lines..lol..because the company can't afford to even keep conference lines for their "managers" any longer.

By the way...getting personal about where I live is pretty low don't you think. I didn't attack anyone personally or where they live. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror and figure out why you got so defensive about the TRUTH! Sit back and enjoy..in a couple of months you'll be on saying you wish you had listened.

NHCD is a Legit Company

#30UPDATE Employee

Wow someone who wants to post negative information about a company yet afraid to tell where they are from other than WV. This company is 100% legit its true there is a deposit required but you get it once you have called 100 people which is clearly stated in interview . To confirm all the information I have given them is true, I send them a interview email that has all of the details of what we went over. If they have questions they have my information to contact me.

Everyone gets their money back, everyone gets their pay. The leads dept makes 6.00 per lead and the enrollment dept makes 50.00 per enrollment if you know so much about the company you would know that these are 2 different depts. Your in the leads dept for 1 week for your training and then moved into a different dept mainly personnel , however there is many other depts if you have certain skills your manager will move you there.

Now my question is, this enrollment you say that customers have 90 days to try it out. That is correct, however your pay is sent out before their 90 days is up so how can you come off saying you dont get paid for it. Paychecks are mailed out every friday.

This person who reported it must be a lazy person that does not want to work even from the comfort of their home. Another Lazy West Virginian that lays around and lives off the state. Welfare Mommy.

most corupt company out there

#30UPDATE Employee

Thu, April 20, 2006

There is so much that is corupt about this company and the only people who don't know that are the new people coming in. All the others who stay have stayed because they were lured in with nice incomes at first and got used to working at home and being with their family, then slowly but surely had their pay cut drastically. They also advertise to hire W-2 employees and there is no such position..they say that they are hiring w-2's and then when someone is being interviewed.. conveniently there are no w-2 positions open currently. SCAM.

There's a nice top line in this company that is sitting back and getting big fat paychecks. They will sugar coat anything to you to make you continue to work and always see a "light at the end of the tunnel." It's a crock. They can't even advertise on most of the sites out there with their own names so they have people make up bogus companies so they can get people suckered in. I have contacted the labor board and an attorney who have been investigating them for a while now. It should be a nice end result. Be careful not to believe everything they try to spin...they have no morals whatsoever as long as their pay isn't cut. They can actually sit back and play all empathetic with you...and then threaten to cut your pay in the same breath.

Almost Trapped

#30Consumer Comment

I was interested in the idea of working from home as were alot of other people for obvious reasons. I was contacted by a very sweet girl last evening and explained all the things that everyone else was told that have reported these people. There is no way on this God's green earth that these people should get away with preying on people like us. People who need a good supplimental income to survive.

I was perfectly willing to work very hard for this company but with everything I have learned today from this website, there is no way I could live with myself knowin gwhat I was doing to other people just like me. Why in the world would I?

I have a very hard time understanding how the people that work for them now live with themselves.

Needless to say there is no way that I would risk my family's livelyhood on a scam such as this one. I almost made the biggest mistake I have ever made.

I called my bank and made sure that these people will never get a dime out of me because I know now that they were never planning on paying me a penny.

Thank all of you so much that have reported this so called "company". Your information has saved me from a huge mistake. Although I am so sorry that any of you had to go through this to find out what was really going on.

Respond to this Report!
