OK, Nick Narang seems like a nice guy on the surface. However he is the biggest scum bag around. I decided to move back to Santa barbara CA, upon searching for a place to live I came across these gorgeous condos, they were called lavender court. I met nick and his associates and began negotiating to move in. Being young and unfamiliar to with all the legalities and guidelines of the california state laws pertaining to rental agreements and guidelines. So i proceeded to give nick nearly 6000$ which was to cover 1st last and security. I move in immediately and this is where the troubles began. Upon moving in I noticed there was no Air conditioning even though narang and his realtor advertised the unit as luxury, and most serious was a gas leak that occurred twice in a matter of 3 days which required me to leave the property for one day while the gas company fixed the problem.

This is the point I started having serious concerns, I contacted Mr.Narang in regards to the air conditioning and also the the gas leak, he proceeded to tell me the unit i moved in was a low income apartment, thus meaning he lied about it being a luxury condo. He became flustered and offered me a different condo in the same complex, I accepted. upon my living in the relocated condo in the same complex I began to some research and found mr.narang was not promoted by california state laws to require me to pay 3 months equal to rent.. meaning I could be charged to 2 months of rent and a cleaning deposit which should be less than rent. I confronted nick about this and he gave me the run around every time I attempted to contact nick and his office. weeks followed and I began wondering why the complex was almost completely empty? turns out nick had been in trouble with the city of carpinteria because he was granted approval to build .. in nicks proposal he wanted to build a low income complex for low income family's that other wise wouldn't be able to afford such living. In the almost 2 years since Lavender court had been built Mr.narang had not sold 1 condo and had began leasing them as luxury condos. This is why the city of carpinteria and also the community had strong resentments towards Narang. Once this news broke in the news papers in carpinteria, the few people living in the complex began to speak about the matter and it came to light nick had filled for bankruptcy and Lavender court had been forclosed on. This was late news to me because nick placed a stop on the mail delivered to my residence, other residents received the letters from the bank informing us of the foreclosure.

When i tried to contact Mr.narang with hopes of finding out some information he became very unavailiblseup to this point I had paid nick rent in cash which is the same way I paid for the moving cost. When he evicted me he stated I was 2 months behind on rent, which was not true since I paid him in cash each time. This is the point where I stopped paying rent.

In the month I lived there without paying rent Nick Narang proceeded to turn my gas off and illegal entered my residence and stole items from my room. I really need help because i know for a fact this guy is a crook and needs his just punishment, so if anyone can assist me It would be greatly appreciated. I will also be contact the consumer affairs office in hopes they will assist in helping me recovery my deposit.

Is really hard to believe in people now days, because you never know how they will turn out to be. Tomas Pomare a Young personal trainer, with tall and muscular body and a smile that can win the world, will fool you with his nice prescense and smile. Beware Landlords you could be his next victims. Tomas came to me desperate for a place, I saw a young men who was ready to take on the world, and yes he paid cash. and I gave him a brand new condominium which is in fact a luxury condominium. His first place was a two 2/2 flat condo. after he didn't like it we moved him to a beautiful townhouse that had never been lived in, it had white carpet and nice mahogany cabinets and a beautiful fireplace in the Masteroom. Tomas' original lease was a month to month lease, he moved in in November and paid 2250 for the first month's rent, then he paid 2250 for deposit and 2250 for his last month's rent. When he complaint about the place where he was, that the water was not hot enough ( we have tankless /electrical water heaters) he also complaint that there was a gas leak, for his safety we requested that he didn't enter his place until the gas company showed up ( that happened a few hrs after we were notified of the leak). When the gas company came we were told by them that there was no leak. He then complaint, "I don't like this unit, you have an empty place in that corner over there I want to move in there even if I have to pay a little bit more" We tried to please him so we switched him to a 3 bed 2.5 bath that I described above. This unit rents for 2850 and we gave him a discount of $105, he gave us the difference between 2250 and 2695, so he gave us $1335more to cover his deposit first month and current month. he lived there November, and he told us I will move out at the end of December, so I will need to get my deposit back, since he was on a month to month and had paid for his last month, we said it was fine, a few days before the end of December he came to my office to beg me to give him his deposit back. I told him the deposit's purpose is to make sure that you leave the unit in good condition. He promised " don't worry we are going to clean the place, is going to be as good as new" , we gave him back with a check $2000.00 for deposit, we trusted him he had $695 left after the end of December, he told my assistant that he would the the walkout on January 1, but we told him lets do it in the 2nd. My Assistant went to see him and he said , we are not ready yet, we need more time the place we were planning to get we were not able to get it. She asked them to pay rent for January then, he said, no I'm not paying you I gave you $6000 what did you do with my money. She told them we have given you your deposit back and you already used your last's month rent, you can stay here, but you need to pay rent. We kept following up with him to collect rent. He was "never" home, We noticed that a lot more people moved in the place and we got noticed that he was growing illegal plants in the house. He subleased the extra rooms in the house and asked them to pay him $400 a month and that He was going to try to drag everything until July, when we hear that from the source. He quickly gave them a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit. they stayed a total of 3 months with out paying rent, they made holes on the walls, He destroyed the wall where the fire place was, he stole our stainless steel refrigerator with a market value of $2800, pour red ink in the white carpet in one room, yellow ink in the other . Between the cost of fixing the unit and paying attorneys fees, and replacing the refrigerator and the lost of rent, I spent quiet a few dollars short of $20,000.00
