We purchased an aircraft from Nick upon the condition that it was IFR certified and that all the key systems were functional.
He lied to us claiming that the paperwork for the important IFR certification was missing, he then made us look like fools calling around to mechanics trying to find this paperwork....we eventually found out the mechanic never did certify the aircraft as claimed. It is costing a great deal of money, time and effort to fix the non functioning instrumentation and get the IFR certification for the plane.
An expensive interior gauge light switch, crucial for safety when flying at night, was missing. He ridiculously claimed that this particular aircraft didn't have the lights for flying at night.
When we requested he refund some money from the purchase price to pay for the repairs he refused and has actually threatened violence regarding this issue.
