I have a 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R and have my car routinely checked and serviced by my personal trusted mechanic. A month ago as I was starting my car I hear this low pop sound and my engine would not start. I smell this burning scent. Turns out my battery blew up and the chemical splashed all over my engine.
I contacted Nissan and after another few weeks they sent me to a local dealship and sent an inspected. They claim that that my battery fluid was low. Well, of course it is low. All the fluid is on my engine now when the battery pop and blew all the acid everywhere. Keep in mind this car is less than 3 years old. And a battery is never suppose to blow up. If it dies, I would not have a problem, but it blew up. If the blast was big enough someone could have been injured. So Nissan said this is not their problem and denies all responsibility.

Alhambra Nissian went out of their way to help with the situation. They helped me properly clean my engine and re-mount my new battery properly at no extra charge and offer a free oil change.
El Monte Nissan is not involve in this incident.
Nissan still denies any responsiblities and claims batteries are suppose to blow up.
