Nissan Of America Ripoff 350Z Suspension Defective Gardena California
I purchased a 2004 Nissan 350ZR in February of 2004 from Fisher Nissan in Bergenfield, NJ and have nothing but problems with the vehicle.
I had learned about some problems with the 2003 model, but was assured from the sale staff at Fisher Nissan they had been corrected in the 2004 model. There were complaints about a design flaw in the suspension that made the vehicle unable to hold an alignment.
Shortly after having the car for a few months the problems began to mount. The car's alignment was off and it pulled to the right badly when you released the steering wheel, the passenger door lock wouldn't open, computer screen cover to the navigation computer wouldn't open, gas filler door wouldn't open, soft top leaked, navigation door stopped working, right passenger door wouldn't open, tachometer stopped working occasionally, clutch chatter sounds like rocks in an empty paint bucket while idling, gas filler door stopped opening, car just up an died on the highway last week, passenger seat moves forward and gets stuck sometimes when soft top opened/closed, shifting into 5th gear doesn't always happen, car occasionally backfires into injection block, and that's just what I can remember.
I have been fighting with Nissan for over a year without any acknowledgement from them that this stuff is even happening. Fisher Nissan service personnel flat out called me a liar when I brought the car in and complained about these problems. I called Nissan's complaint line and Miranda Carter inferred the same thing. Denied anyone had ever complained of any of the problems despite multiple TSB's on their own website documenting them.
I have been videotaping my problems and complaints about the car and Fisher Nissan staff wouldn't even look at the video to verify them. They have refused to give me a service loaner despite my warranty requiring them to. They have refused to service my car while under warranty even though they are required to. I even purchased an optional extended 7 yr/100k warranty for $1200.00 from Fisher Nissan, which they won't honor either.
What I have learned from this experience is that Nissan does not honor their warranties and refuses to take responsibility for their defective products even though they are required to. Their reps lie to your face and do everything they can to avoid fixing the problems they created by poor engineering when they desiged the 350Z. Rather than fixing the problem when discovered in the 2003 model they just decided to keep screwing the consumer as they carrried the known defects in each ensuing model year without admitting it. They have done everything they can to duck the problems, step uo to the plate, and fix them.
