I recently ordered a new shift knob for my car online through RKSport, a California aftermarket auto parts company. Upon receiving it, I found that there were surface scratches along the perimeter. Having paid $70.00 for it, I expected better quality.

I called RKSport to report my displeasure with their product and to get a return authorization number. I packed the knob up and shipped it back via UPS at my expense. I was only reimbursed $59.90 instead of the full $70.00 plus shipping. They claim that they did not see the scratches and the item was resold.

I was offered a $5.00 credit, which I refused on the grounds that I had no confidence in this company's merchandise. When I expressed my fears to RKSport's owner Mike Lazano, he told me that this was my problem and he would not fully reiburse me.

This is a warning going out to custom car enthusiasts. If you buy from RKSport and are not satisfied with your purchase due to defect, you will not be refunded.
