WHY WON'T THE ATTORNEY GENERAL PROTECT CONSUMERS?

Mr. Joshua Brockington, Mr. Pete Sauers, Ms.Bessie Stiggles, and the American Appliance Consumers, a long with the Consumers Education and Protective Association International, Inc. (CEPA) and its members. Are all wondering why the Attorney General, Mike Fisher is unwilling to prosecute the people who ripped them off!

Mr. Brockington was the victim of a predatory lender: Mr. Sauers was victimized by a business operating in a residentially zoned neighborhood: LifeTime Builders took advantage of Ms. Striggles: and the American Appliance Consumers are facing the loss of merchandise they have already paid for.

In each case, the Consumers filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General. And in each case the Attorney General has failed to take the necessary action to protect the Consumers' interest.

Mr. Brockington was trickrd into signing a home re-modeling contract and refinancing papers. He now, in essence, is being forced to buy his house for the second time. Mr. Brockington has provided the Attorney General with all the documentation, and yet the Attorney General has refused to prosecute.

Mr. Sauers was forced out of is home by a business operating in an in a residentially zoned neighborhood. The Township refused to enforce the local ordinances. The Attorney General has refused to enforce the laws that should have protected Mr. Sauers and his neighbors!

Ms. Striggles hired LifeTime Builders to replace some windows. They took her money and never finished the work. The Attorney General has refused to prosecute the contractor.

CEPA Consumers Education and Protective Association joins these and other Consumers in demanding that Attorney General Mike Fisher protect consumers and prosecute the white / blue-collar criminals who are ripping off the public.

ANTI-MIKE FISHER REPORT IS ELECTION - YEAR PROPAGANDA

#2Consumer Comment

Mon, August 19, 2002

The report criticizing Pennsylvania Attorney General Mike Fisher is nothing more than election-year propaganda. It was probably posted by unscrupulous supporters of former DNC head and Philadlphia Mayor Ed Rendell. Democrat Rendell has a slight lead over Fisher in their race for Governor. This is an effective political dirty trick, and we've seen it many times before. Democrats pulled off a mountain of dirty tricks in the 2000 election season, so we should expect some in this one.

Any impartial inquiry will probably reveal the actual facts. Mike Fisher has prosecuted more fraud cases and all other categories of crimes than any other Attorney General in the history of Pennsylvania. Check the dockets and do the math. Numbers and statitistics don't lie.

The cases mentioned in this bogus report may very well be legitimate and have merit. They may have been more appropriate for other venues. And the State Attorney General could never, ever take every case that crosses his desk. It's absolutely impossible.

If you looked more closely at the individuals and organizations mentioned in this report to give it a false facade of legitimacy, you'd probably find they are partisan Democrats and political front groups. Does CEPA have one Republican officer? And look at the city source; Rendell's Philadelphia. Such unscrupulous tactics say a lot about how Democrats go about winning elections in PA and across the nation. If you can't win fair, go dirty.
