Complaint Review: No Ho Auto Care

NoHo Auto Care ripoff I took my car in to get it fixed and they charged me $280 for replacing a part that I did not authorize ahead of time. The part they replaced wouldn't have fixed the problem told by another mechanic. North Hollywood California

I had taken my car into NoHo Auto Care on 12/3/04 because of problems with starting the car and its tendency to shut off while running. They had my car for 2 days before I decided to take it to someone else. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.

They asked if they could keep it an additional day. I said no, i need to take it to someone who specializes in Japanese cars. So than they decided to charge me $280 to replace a part I did not authorize ahead of time, nor did I sign anything. What I did tell them was that I trust their judgement earlier in the day.

I took my car home to find that what they did to my car did not fix the problem. I took it to another mechanic the next day, asked him if what they replaced would've fixed the problem and he said no. I brought it to The Japanese Car Clinic at 9am, they said it would be done at 5pm and it was ready at 3pm.

The Japanese Car Clinic fixed my car in less than half the time it them took to not fix my car. Alls he did was hook it up to a computer and it did an entire angine check. This cost me a total of $250 to get it fixed at this place.

So I canceled my check with NoHo Auto Care and gave the money to the Japanese Car Clinic. This is where I need to know my rights. I could not afford to pay for both jobs.

I had taken my care into them on 11/29/04 to replace the radiator and thermostat. From what I was told by the Japanes Car Clinic was that what NoHo did that day would have not have caused the problem that occurred just after they worked on it.

I just find it strange that my car never had a problem starting nor staying on till I took it to NoHo. JCC did fix my car and it's pretty much back to normal. It's never run the same since I took it to NoHo.
