I first learned about NordVPN in 2018. It seemed like a good enough deal at the time that I bought a three-year subscription.

Everything worked great for most of those three years. Then, during 2021, things started going wrong. Connecting to the network, which used to take less than 30 seconds once you chose which node to link to, was now taking anywhere from 3-4 minutes. To make matters worse, the initial connection would often drop within the first few seconds, or never establish itself completely to begin with. Don't get me started on how many times I had to repeat a connection attempt, in some cases, to get it to take.

In mid-September, 2021, I tried following NordVPN's diagnostic instructions. This includes reinstalling the application, which I did. However, my password didn't want to work. So, I went through the 'Forgot Password' link on NordVPN's site. The response said a reset link was being sent, via Email, directly to me.

That link never arrived. I made multiple attempts to try it again, and also retried every password I'd ever used for VPN services. No go.

I finally gave up and opened a trouble ticket with them. After a couple of back-and-forth replies, which turned out to be utterly useless "flip-chart" based "troubleshooting," I asked them to please turn the ticket over to someone who actually understood networking as opposed to flip-charting.

That was the last I've heard from them. No Email, no further response to the ticket, nothing. I sent them one final response today (30-Sep-21), expressing my dissatisfaction (that's putting it delicately).

I don't expect any useful response. Even if I receive one, there's nothing, now, which could motivate me to stay with NordVPN. I'm down to writing off the remainder of my subscription fee as the cost of a lesson learned, and I will be switching to a VPN service which actually (a), cares about good customer service; And (b), knows what its doing.

Long story short: If you're looking for a decent VPN provider, don't  bother with NordVPN. They might advertise great prices, but it'll eventually cost you far more in frustration and lousy customer service than they're worth!
