Nordyne HVAC Heater - Defective Manufactured Motor Missouri Nationwide
We purchased a brand new home in June 2013 which had a Nordyne HVAC unit installed. It is now March 2015 so 21 months ago and the Heating unit (complete Motor) is defective and non working. We contacted our home builder and manufacturer Nordyne who told us they only warranty this particular item SERIAL #NSA130500367 for 1 year from the home purchase date. This is ridiculous as it will now cost us over $1,000 to replace and it is currently 32 degrees outside. My husband contacted the manufacturer today after speaking with our HVAC technician and they are not willing to comprehend or admit that the parts are defective. I believe the quality of these motors are not up to standard if they last less than 5 years with monthly filter changes. We even purchased an extended warranty through Assurant Group which is no help at all. They informed me that it would take up to 10 days just to send out an inspector to report back to them, they will then review our warranty and determine if its covered and at that time will schedule a contractor to repair. I was told it can take up to 30 days. (that will be another RIP OFF REPORT). This just is not considered professional and standard if a manufacture is making defective HVAC units that only last a year and they will not replace at their cost or reimburse for repairs or replacement. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and if more people see this report I pray that maybe we can start a class action lawsuit for defective parts that should last longer than under 2 years.
