nortek maytag, nutone, nordyne, gibson, broan, frigidaire, westinghouse manufactures defective heat pumps, expects others to pay for their mistakes, class action needed O'fallon Missouri
New NuTone/Nortek heat pump installed in 4/2015. Made loud "moosecall" noise periodically during heating ever since initial install. Cause of this trouble is likely a stuck reversing valve. While trouble shooting this, installer found another manufacturing defect that restricted refrigerant flow. So at least 2 defects in manufacture. Nortek left my installer completely on his own to repair their manufacturing defects - providing no assistance with either labor or part costs. Unsurprisingly, after fixing one of nortek's mistakes, installer refused to have anything more to do with it, leaving me with a still defective unit. Apparentlly Nortek feels entitled to manufacture junk without having to take any responsibility for themselves.

Reversing Valve

On The Reversing valves the loud noise durring valve shifting is due to damaged lip seals on the valve interior. The noise will gradualy get worse over time.
the problem is a result of low cost material in the Reversing valve, the valve must be replaced unfortunatly with the same valve manufacture.
