On 12/18/2006 I was contacted by Scott Johnson of North Alliance Lending Services, 1750 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101, concerning a $5000 personal loan available to me through North Alliance. I received the contract information via fax at home and reviewed the information contained within. The contract stipulated a $900 "collateral" payment to secure the loan.

Several questions I had concerning the loan were answered and, due to my current credit history, decided to follow the terms of the loan. The $900 "collateral" payment was sent via MoneyGram to Heather Bowman of Riverton, Manitoba, Canada on Wednesday, 12/20/2006 and all documents were signed and sent via fax to North Alliance.

I received a call from Daniel Burke Wednesday afternoon informing me that, after further review, the lender required an additional $900 "collateral". This was obtained and sent again to Heather Boman via MoneyGram. This is now a total of $1800 plus $138.99 in fees.

Thursday morning I received a call from Mr. Burke informing me that the lender had backed out of the loan and they were "filing legal action" against the lender. I was also informed that another lender was available but additional "collateral" was needed to secure this loan.

I subsequently informed Mr. Burke that I wanted a full refund of all monies sent on 12/20/2006. He has informed me that the money will be returned but not until 1/18/2007. I informed him that this was not acceptable and he informed me that Section 1.6 of the contract stipulates their repayment guidelines which state "in such event that a refund may take place, which must coincide with the Lenders pay period." A further call with Mr. Burke resulted in his being very belligerent and further stating that he could not do anything other than what he has already done.

Scott Johnson informed me in earlier conversations that North Alliance had been in business for about 10 years and he had been with them for about 5 years. He is the person that sucks you in, Daniel Burke is the muscle of the business and can be very belligerent when need be. There is also the unknown Martin K. Bernard, CEO. i was informed by Daniel Burke that there was no way to contact Martin Bernard because he was "too busy" to deal with these types of issues.

I have filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, Maryland States Attorney and the New Hampshire Department of Justice.

As you know by now, their phone number doesn't work, their web site is down and I am out $1938.00.

These people need to be found and put away.
