I recently received a letter in the mail for Riley Capital Claim and Payment Logistics saying that there was a release of a North American Prize Pool held on December 3, 2007 in which my name was drawn and I have been accorded a 3rd tier winner status.

The total winnings was 45,000 in U.S. dollars. It was weird because the envelope is from Canada but the check was from Riles Contracting Inc., a company in Ohio and it is a constuction company. I called the company to see what it was about and the lady told me to deposit the money into my bank account but don't cash it because I could be liable for fees and not to tell the bank that I am cashing it for prize money because of federal law if i tell the bank that information the bank is automatically entitled to 30% of the money. I was also supposed to call the next week to make sure the check had gone through so I could claim the money and they were going to send my tax information with it so I wouldn't have to worry about it when tax time came around.

I was real skeptical but I looked online and I couldn't find any information at that time so I went and deposited it into the atm. I was still really skeptical so my husband typed in North Americal Prize Pool and I seen all these scams for the internet.

Thankfully the bank was closed and I deposited it into the ATM. I called the 1-800 number to my bank and they can deal with it before it goes through.

Thank goodness for Ripoff Report.!!
