North American Telephone Network Liers! Just bad service! Ripoff. Atlanta Georgia
When I received the Call from North American Telephone Company I knew the offer sounded too good to be true. They promised 1,000 free minutes for a one time activation fee of $9.95. Then after that I'd be my plan would be 5 cents a minute. When I agreed to use your service I agreed to the per minute rate, I asked several times if I'd be billed one lump sum and they continued to tell me no.
I only agreed to sign up because they stated that you could cancel at anytime and keep the 1,000 free minutes. Well when I saw my second charge on my credit card of $29.95 in August I emailed asking why they charged me because I hadn't even used half of the 1,000 minutes and that I wanted to cancel right away. A couple of days later I received a call from a women who explained to me that if I cancel I lose my free minutes! Then she told me I could continue to use the service for two months and only be charged $10 a month and they'd refund me the rest. I still have not seen the refund!
Here are the exact charges made on my credit card:
07/22/2003 07/22/2003 NORTH *AMER TELEPHONE $9.95
08/20/2003 08/19/2003 NORTH *AMER TELEPHONE $29.50
Not only have I had problems with billing but on a few occasions I tried to call the 1-866 number they give you to make long distant calls and I got busy signals for several minutes. Here it is almost November and I still have not used my 1,000 minutes. I plan to make one more attempt today to cancel my service seeing as I've received a much better offer which hopefully I'll have better luck with.
