North Star Financial (AKA) TS Ameriplan Tel Fraudulent, Ripoff Business took $499.00 from my Checking Account without my consent & will not answer my calls & will not return my money!! Phoenix Arizona
On January 22, 2003 at about 9:00am I received a phone call from Ameriplan Financial (AKA) North Star Financial offering an unsecured Mastercard with a spending limit of $5,000.00.
In order to receive the card all I had to do was pay a 1 time fee of $249.00. The only way to pay the fee was to withdrawal the $249 from my checking account. So on January 27, 2003 the amount of $249 was withdrawn from my account. It was explained to me that within 7-10 days I would receive an info package about my new card that was on its way.
After 2 weeks & no package I began to worry & I made my first call to the company with a phone number that was provided to me by them. I have now called this alleged "Customer Service Center" many times & nobody answers. Then matters got worse, On April 16, 2003, I checked my checking account & it was overdrawn.
This Ameriplan Financial had now taken a second withdrawal of $249.99! They have now taken a total of $500.00 from my checking account! As of today April 18, 2003, I still can not get in touch with any one from the company & it appears that now that they have my checking account they can withdrawal money from my account when ever they want!!

Though unfortunate, you could have avoided this

I am sorry to say, you may have been ripped off, but in all honesty, YOU could have avoided this. No one put a gun to your head and made you give out your account number. Lesson learned: NEVER give out your account number or ANY personal financial information without FIRST investigating it, and making sure that this venture is 100% LEGITIMATE. Hard lessons learned, deal with it, and don't make the same mistake again, and I assure you that you will not be ripped off again.
And, oh yes, AmeriPlan is legit, but I believe you were taken by a crooked Independent Broker using AmeriPlan for his/her own gains.
