NORTH TEXAS NISSAN ripoff Corinth Texas
TO ALL YOU CAR BUYER'S OUT THERE, BECAREFUL OF THIS DEALER. THEY BEGIN WITH A NICE ATTITUDE TO GET YOU IN THE DOOR. YOU CAN TALK TO THEM AND THEY'LL SAY THE NICEST THINGS. I AM A FINANCIAL ANALYST AND I WENT IN THERE WITH A FRIEND TO BUY A CAR. THEY TALKED HIM INTO TRYING A LEASE. ALL THIS TIME I JUST OBSERVED. WHEN MY FRIEND WAS OPEN TO THE OPTION, THEY GOT REALLY EXCITED.
MY FRIEND ASKED ABOUT THE OPTIONS OF A LEASE AND ALSO TO PURCHASE AND THE SALEMAN SAID ITS A BREEZE. THE BEST DEAL IN TOWN. FINALLY MY FRIEND AGREED ON A PRICE.
THIS IS THE BEST PART - WHEN WE WENT IN TO THE FINANCING DEPT. TO TALK TO THE FINANCE GUY, IT BECAME A WHOLE NEW GAME!!
WHAT EVER THE SALES GUY SAID DID NOT MATCH THE FINANCE GUYS. I EVALUATED THE PRICING AND PAYMENTS AND OPTIONS. AND THE FIGURES WERE TRICKY TO A PERSON NOT GOOD IN FINANCING. I CALCULATED MY FRIEND WOULD BE PAYING MORE THAN 2 TIMES THE VALUE OF THE CAR. WE ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS ON HIS CALCULATIONS.WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THAT I WAS INTO FINANCE, HE GOT NERVOUS.
LATER ON ANOTHER GUY - PRESUMABLY HIGHER RANKING, TOLD US THAT IF WE DONT LIKE IT WE CAN LEAVE....AND SURE ENOUGH WE DID....THESE GUYS ARE FULL OF IT. THE WORST CAR DEALERS WE HAVE BEEN TO. CAN'T BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF THINGS THEY THROW AT BUYERS. ALL THE NUMBERS THEY GIVE YOU....BRING A FINANCIAL EXPERT LIKE MY FRIEND. OR GET RIPPED OFF BY THEM!

With all due respect, you did this totally backwards, and you, of all people, should have known better!!
What do you mean they talked you into 'trying a lease'?? If you went in for a lease, you should have done your homework. If you did not go in for a lease but got talked into one, then you did not do your homework.
As a financial person, did you warn your friend to look up all the leasing factors, formulate a deal based on those, and then go in there with a strategy? It doesn't sound like it. You went in there and were at the complete mercy of the dealer. At least that's what it sounds like to me. Did you research vehicle prices, down payments, residuals, interest rates, etc.?
Did you have any idea of what constituted a good deal for this car, either leasing, or a cash deal?
These guys may or may not be full of it. But you surely went in there with rose colored glasses. You had ZERO bargaining room because you had no idea what you were getting into.
And no, I have nothing to do with the industry.
