Became ill in Jnauary of this year while on vacation in Georgia. Went to Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. The doctor there did a short exam, said I had an inner ear infection, gave me a prescription, said I would be better in a day or two and sent me on my way.  My wife drove 10.5 hours to get me home to Virginia. The next day I was worse so she called the doctor. I spent eight days in the hospital and receiving six bags of blood and three bags of iron. After getting home I received a bill from Northeast Georgia Physicians Group for $147.00 so I called and explained that in my opinion, which my physician agreed with, their doctor had misdiagnosed what was wrong with me. Since I did not feel I should have to pay this bill, they told me to talk to their administartor, Lee Hix. Mr. Hix said he would check into the situation and have someone "reach out to me". I have called Mr. Hix on numerous occasions and even met with him while in Georgia since January. No one has yet "reached out to me". He said Dr Newton was the one that takes care of the paperwork so I said I wanted to talk to her but she has not called me. In the last two weeks I have received a collection letter and collection phone calls. I faxed the letter to Mr. Hix as he requested and still no response. I am in Georgia this week so this afternoon I went to see Mr. Hix only to be told he had just left for the day. I will try again tomorrow because they said he should be in around 8 or 9 am if he doesn't have a meeting to attend. Hope you can assist in resolving this situation.
