Northest Insulation Services located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH is NOT a legitimate or honest company to work with. The owner - Sean Ahern - Promised he would clean out my old insulation and replace it with new. He also promised to cover the gable vents to prevent Squirrls from coming in and ruining my attic again. The reason I needed his services is because squirrls got into my attic through the gable vents and they spread filth all over the attic. Sean agreed to clean it out, disinfect, add new insulation and cover the gable vents with wire mesh to keep the squirrls out. I stressed to him over and over again how important it was to squirrl proof those vents. He told me not to worry that he would completly satisfy me. Well that.... HE DID NOT.

He cleaned out the attic and replaced the insulation.. But when it came time to wire mesh the gables, he fell short. Or actually, his workers, I should say. He wasn't even present when they finished. He showed up to collect the money when they were almost done then left. Typical... His workers did not put wire mesh over the vents as promised by Sean. Instead, they used window screen that squirrls can chew through. To top that off they did such a poor job that I could put my whole arm through several locations.

As a result, squirrls got in and now I have rodent feces and urine all over my new insulation. Sean said he would fix it and make it right a few weeks ago but that was the last action of any kind that I saw from him. He has been hiding and will not answer the phone or return my calls. I finally reached him today using a private phone line. He was very rude as used profanity and refused to finish the job.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Northeast Insulation and its owner - Sean Ahern - are only concerned about collecting as much money as possible and doing a poor job in return for it. This man will rip you off and the screem at you for getting upset about it.

RESPONSE NORTHEAST INSULATION SERVICES,LLC.

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, July 30, 2009

Northeast Insulation Services has been in business since 2000, and this is the only complaint we have ever had.
Northeast Insulation Services had a contract with Daniel and Marie Barton to remove insulation in an existing attic, install new blown in fiberglass insulation.
We also installed a wire screen material over the exisiting gable vents. This work was completed and paid for.
Dan Barton even tipped the installers $40 each for the professional work they performed. Dan Barton was in the attic the whole time the work was being completed. When the work was completed, Dan inspected everything, and paid for the work. The work was complete on November 18, 2008.
On February 4, 2009, with temperature at below zero, Dan Barton called me to say there was a squirrel in his attic. I went to the house to inspect.
When I inspected the attic there was NO evidence of any suirrel. Also, Dan told me the suirrel he saw escaped through the soffit vent. When I inspected the soffit vent from the outside of the home, I found a hole in it and a large pine tree hanging over the soffit vent within 18".
At that point, and that point only did Dan Barton say he wanted us to remove the wire screen and install a heavy gauge fence material and remove all the insulation in the attic and install new fiberglass insulation. I told him we would not do that, and offered to install the fence material on the gable vents. I also told him to cut the tree overhanging his house and install new gable vents in the house.
I sent Dan Barton a certified letter, which he refused to sign for.He never returned a phone call trying to resolve this matter.
Dan and Marie Barton did not own the home, Dans' father did, and Dan told me directly he was getting work done on the home to bring it to "code" and deducting the repairs from the purchase price he was going to pay his father, apparently he was attempting to deduct the insulation work twice.
We have never had a customer complaint in 10 years. With over 2000 jobs completed and all satisfied customers. We have never has an insurance claim for a job we completed. We have never had a workers compensation issue for our certified installers.
We would guarantee our insulation products. We do not guarantee animals form entering home.
