Northern Leasing Systems, signature forgery, fraudulent collection practices, false credit reporting New York New York
During my short tenure as an employee of a small retail business, the owner was approached by a salesperson for products/services offered by Northern Leasing. Although I recieved the equipment when it was delivered, I never signed a contract, nor was I authorized to do so. Shortly after I left the retail business in 1997 for a position with manufacturing company, where I began recieving threatening letters and phone calls from Northern Leasing. These callers and documents claimed that I was the personal guarantor of the account and that I owed a large sum of money.
I believe that my signature was forged by the salesperson, and that my social security number was unwittingly given to Northern Leasing by my former employer. I have now been dealing with this for over 8 years and the toll on my time and credit report has cost me thousands (perhaps tens of thousands) of dollars.
I have taken several actions to remedy this, but it still shows up as a "Negative Item" on my credit report. It is hopeful to see so many people with similar complaints about this company, and perhaps someday I can get this resolved.
