I was in the market for a new car in October and stumbled upon Northland Auto Sales. When I first called them they were really understanding and were sure they could do something for me so I went in to see them. I filled out the initial paperwork and was shown a 2005 Kia Optima. The car was clean, still under warranty, and drove well during the test drive. The Sales Manager stated he could get me in this car and would let me know what the finance company had to say.

The following day they called me and stated the only way I could get into it was if I had 3,000 dollars down. I called back and asked if they could do it for 2,000 and they said they didn't think they could do it at all on the Optima.

I searched their website online and came across a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport that had 64,000 miles and one owner, plus it was significantly cheaper then the Optima. I called and asked what could be done with that and they stated 2500 down. I was in need of a car so I said fine. I went and test drove it for like five minutes and signed the paper work. That night I thought about what I had done and decided that it wasn't worth it.

I went to Northland the next day after the bank said the paperwork hadn't been processed yet to return the car and Northland informed me it was to late. Oh did I mention that same night the 4wd high and low lights came on the dash for no reason. They told oh it's nothing we will fix it tomorrow. They also agreed to knock of a thousand dollars off my down payment. I thought they were really nice for doing that, until now.

My check engine light came on 3 days after I bought the car and they told me to by a new gas cap and they reset it. I stated the temperature gauge didn't work and they said it was fine and that I didn't want it to move. (I have found out that the check engine light has something to do with my temperature gauge not working!!! Go Figure). The door actuator is bad on the drivers side and they told me at least it still works for now and the rear windshield wiper didn't work and they said the motor was going out and to just hit it and it would work. All of this was within the first week of having the car, now here comes the kicker!! I have had constant problems with this car and have only owned it for 3 months.

Here's the latest...the transmission is blown!!! $2500 dollars to fix it!! I went up to Northland and the only thing they are willing to do is to let an unreputable mechanic fix it for $1500 which will come out of my pocket of course. Oh yeah another option they gave me was that they could trade it and put my in a pickup truck and up my monthly payment $100 dollars a month. Not to mention I would have to pay sales tax again. I have a girl with 2 kids and 2 dogs...we can not all fit in a pickup truck. I believe this is another piece of crap car they are trying to get off of their lot. They have plenty of other cars that are cheaper and functional for me, but they claim this is the only car.

I would never go to them again, nor would I send somebody there. The story is more in-depth then this but I believe this is enough information to make everyone do the right thing and not buy from them. Con Artists are what they are not salesmen.

I am the sales manager at Northland Auto Sales and Service. We have been here serving the Northland for over 36 years and always try to do everything we can to solve everyones issues, but, sometimes, there is no solution. I wish Courtnie didn't feel this way towards us but I feel we did everything we could to help.

Whenever someone buys a used vehicle, the person tries to buy the best vehicle they can for the money. We were unable to obtain financing for the Kia that she wanted and did not have a whole lot of options for her. We felt sorry for her and tried to help. I called back the lender and asked if there was anything that we could do for here other than sell her a car for cash (which was something that was not available). The lender gave us the parameters of a solution that if Courtnie could do her part, they would do theirs. We went over everything with Courtnie and even though it wasn't what she wanted to hear, it was a way to get her driving again. We did all the paperwork and she left happy. The next morning she tells us that she doesn't have all of her down payment. We, regretfully, wrote that off and took the loss, once again feeling sorry for her. We had sold her the car for pretty much what we had owned it for because the lender would only do a certain percentage of the sale price so we didn't have a whole lot of room. The 4wheeldrive unit went out within the first month so we told her to bring it in and we would see what was wrong. Once again she didn't have any money for the repairs so we fixed tha unit and ate that loss, trying once again to be nice.

It was 2-4 months down the road that she started having transmission problems so we once again told her to bring it up and we would see what we could do for her. The tansmission was going out so we called to see what that was going to cost. We got the price and told her. This is when she started saying that we had sold her a bad car. To try to satisfy her, we once again offered to pay for the majority of the bill. Of course, she would have nothing to do with this. It would involve her taking some responsibility.

After this incident, we washed our hands of the situation. Fortunately, It didn't change our ways. We will continue, to a point, trying to satisfy each and everyone of our customers. Unfortunately, YOU CAN'T SATISFY EVERYONE!!!

I think this report is bull crap. I know everyone up at Northland Auto Sales. They are great! I have gotten 3 cars from there and I refer all of my friends, I have about 10 friends that have bought cars from there without any problems what so ever.

Maybe this girl with the lemon bought a really old vehicle off the back lot or something. maybe all she could afford was a pos if that is what it was.. also a lot of drivers are the cause of vehicles messing up. Take my dumb neighbors for example, they have had their van for approx. 2 months now this van is only like 3 years old. well after they start the car they rev it up to the max, im not saying like everyone else does, i mean they don't even give the engine 8 seconds before doing it. their van was messed up a couple of weeks ago and they wondered why. I just laughed at them.

Its people like that and probably the girl that made the report that always have junk cars because they either do not have the funds at the time or they are just IDIOTS!!!!!!! I COMPLETELY 100% RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY and that girl can go complain somewhere else.
Thank you
