 A Northstar representative knocked on my door and asked to talk about my home security system. After presenting his credentials he preceeded to explain to me that Monittonics was being sold and that all customers were being told to change to Northstar (the representative claimed to represent both companies ). He said that if I agreed that he would fill out a form for to sign and that would be sent Monitronics. Based on Northstar 's representative's explaining that this is what Monitronics was recommending, I agreed. He then filled out the form that was to be sent to Monitronics and called for a installation tech to come and switch the system over. I didn't realize I was still under both companies (it was false information that Monitronics had been bought out). I received a security upgrade from Monitronics, when I tried to install it the upgrade wouldn't work and called the number on the instructions. I contacted Northstar today and the refused to stop withdrawing monthly payments from my account and threatened me that if stopped payment they would turn me over to collectons. They're representative provided me false information when the account was first set up and Northstar refuses to make things right. I further intend to fill complaints withe FTC and the Dept. of Criminal Justice against Northstar.
