Purchased a R12 Freon Can Tap that clamps on the small (12 oz) cans. It punctures the can an allows Freon to be deleivered to a guage set for filling automotive AC. The can tap is a small clamp like device which is engaged by squeezing and locking to maintain tight contact with the can. It worked fine for 4 cans after it was recieved in May 2014.
The AC need one more can of R12. On or about July 25, 2014 attached a can and started topping off the refrigerant in the HOnda ac when without warning the can tap plastic handle at the fitting that punctured the can broke in half. It released all the freon in the can and some from the AC before it was shut off.
The compnay has a 14 day warranty from Ebay but will not warranty its tool for more than 60 days. They were given an opportunity to correct but have been intractable about any replacement of their defective tool.
I beleive these tools may be defectively manuafatured and have failed frequently but the vendor has set the time limit on the tool so short as to avoid returns and liability. Buyer beware of a tool companys that have short warranties on tools that should last many years.
