I live in CA, so my transaction took place over the phone. One of my main concerns was a rust free vehicle. I asked if the truck had any rust and the salesman quickly replied that the truck has no rust and it is in "mint" cond. I trusted that answer, but I screwed myself by not getting that question and answer documented. I ended up buying the truck and having it shipped down to CA. When the truck arrived, it was elevated on the hauler, the first thing I saw was some serious rust underneath the passenger side! I got in touch with the manager who seemed willing to help. After getting some repair estimates, it was revealed to me that the truck had been in a significant accident involving the passenger bedside and the section beneath the rear door (this was not on the vehicle history report). The resulting damage was repaired improperly resulting in the development of the rusted areas. After I presented the repair estimate of nearly $2700 to the manager at NWMS, he offered only $1000 towards the bill. Given that they falsely described the vehicle to me, I was slightly insulted by the low offer. I requested the full amount in which he responded by retracting the $1000. In the end I only got $500. Chump change.

It also took them a month to send the paper work to the CA DMV, after numerous phone calls on my end. Two months of severe stress and hassle. I knew buying a used car can be a pain, but I was unprepared for an experience this bad.

I spoke with the owner Don over the phone. I was surprised that he was a nice down to earth person. It seems there was mishandling and misunderstanding of the situation on both sides. In the end I am pleased with the outcome.
