Norvergence Exploited Inside Sales Rep's to work for 2 month's without paying them salary plus commissions owed!!! ripoff Newark New Jersey
Norvergence is a company that paid their Inside Sales Rep's a base salary of 30k or 40k a year based on experience plus a generous commission to set appointments for screening mgr's. We had a quota to set 4 quality appts a day by making a min of 200+ calls nationwide to various businesses. Mrs Beverley Thomas (Asst Vp) and her enforcer's ran the sales floor with Fear and Intimidation like a Southern Slave Plantation. This women is in need of serious therapy the way she talked to people and suspended and fired people with most of it not based on company policy .
Speaking of policy they had a policy of taking 3/4's of your base salary if you were late signing in by 1 minute, absent at least once or forgot to sign out in a 2 week pay period. They played games with the digital clock on the sales floor in the morning by moving up the time by 3-4 min to set them up to take their so called "Attendance Bonus". Later in the afternoon they reset the clock back to have us work longer for free. This is just a few examples of the illegal and outrageous deeds this company practiced. The latest and most abhorent behavior by Management was CEO Peter Salzano told us a few days after our June.18 checks bounced like a Spaulding handball that we would know if we would be paid by Jun. 30th Wed actually that date changed several times, but they had us working until the last min no regard to our situation. If they wasn't 100% sure we would not be payed they should of told us the truth. On Jul 1st at about 4pm Peter Salzano comes to our floor with tight security to tell us the company has filed Chapter 11 and there's no money to pay us. Keep in mind we had been working close to 1 month without being paid.
Talk about raw exploitation of the working man! If there's any justice Peter Salzano, Beverley Thomas who was quoted saying " These are very honorable people and if they weren't I would not work for them" should have been put in handcuffs and arrested on the spot like they did Kenneth Lay of Enron another ROBBER BARRON!!!! I myself is personally owed close to $6,000 dollars. I wonder how many times before have these characters pulled this stunt before. They must be STOPPED!!!! JUSTICE FOR THE ISR'S!!!!!

Iam in the same boat with this company. My check from June 18th bounced as well. Plus every single check that I wrote for my bills bounced. Don't worry, I was told. My boss told me to tell them all of the checks that bounced and the dollar figure and that I would be reimbursed. Yeah that never happened. I am owed about $3400, which includes my boucned check fees, so that I can finally see the light of day. They were telling us that everything was going to be okay. I would like to know when did this all happen. I heard that things started going down hill in February of 2004.
This company also screwed me and probabaly all the other with my health benefits. Turns out that they were taking out the money for our health insurance but was not paying for them. Yeah I have about $1300 in doctor's bills that I am stuck paying.
I just hope that Tom and Peter get their just deserts for everything that they have done. Also I hope that Tom gets it worse than Peter. b*****d!!!!
