About 1 year ago I received a charge of $6.00 on my credit card statement. When I called the number on it I got a recording. I went through the steps to CANCEL with the auto recording and it said my $6.00 would be credited to my statement. It was now over right?

I still continued to the get magazine thinking it would be just a couple of months until they finxed their mailing list. No they never did. This month I received 3 charges for differnt magazines from $18-$24 and a over the limit fee for being over $23.80. So I called again to cancel and of course received the auto recording. They must receive so many calles like mine that they have you cancel through the recording so they do not have to talk to you. I went through and cancelled the magazines and received confirmation numbers that the charges would be credit to my account AGAIN! I had to do each one seprately to make it even more inconvienant that it already was.

Then I said operator and again it tried to talk me out of talking to a live person by saying I could speak to a attentant but it could be a long wait, and the automatic cancellation would take just seconds. Would I like to try again? NO!!!! Finally a represenative came on the line and said that everything will be returned and if I wanted to get credit for my over the limit fee I would have to fax over my statement. This was not good enough so he gave me his supervisor who was of no help at all. The supervisor told me that when I called last year I only wanted the $6.00 returned to my account but did not cancel the magazines. WHAT!! why would I do that. If I wanted the magazines I would gladly have paid for the service fee. Obviously this is how they scam so many people. Game after game hopeing you either do not notice the charges or get so discouraged that you just give up and go away.

So then I asked for the supervisors boss and was told his name was Ricardo StClaire and I would have to call back tomorrow 8-5. So I did, again I had to go through numerous questions with the auto attentant and 2 live people to get Ricardo. Then when I finally spoke to him he said again that they sorry and the charges would be credited to my account. He also said that if I wanted the money for the over the limit fee I would have to fax the statement. I asked if they are going to refund the fee I have to pay at the local copy store to use their fax machine and the long distance call. He said no that is not their policy. When I asked for the number to their corporate office phone number he would only give me a address and no name to address this with.

This is not the first time this has happened. When I placed order on the phone previously for a company I do not want to bad mouth, they asked me if I wanted all these extra things and one of them was magazines. I said not to everything extra but a few weeks later received some magazines in the mail and charges on my statement. I do not know if this is the same company but these company's must give the sales people incentives so they push your order through even when you say NO!

This is not a money issue they are constantly scamming people from begining to end. They somehow get your credit card number from other companys you have given it to. And say you ordered this by not unclicking the appropriate box or by telling the phone agent you wanted them. Then if you are lucky and find out what is going on it takes months maybe even years to go through the cancellation process. Why should I have to go through all this when I never wanted the magazines in the first place? How is this company still in business?
