I started receiving People Magazine that I never ordered. I should have smelled scam at that point but I didn't know who was sending it. Then my account was debited $117- surprise! The info pointed to match.com and gave a number to call, which of course did not give an option to speak to a live person.

I did call Match and spoke with a supervisor who disclosed the name of the company behind the charge but I cannot get through to the company. They apparently were given my account information through match.com so needless to say, I cancelled my account with them.

But how can consumers be protected from companies such as who just decide to send you a product and then charge you for it- then hide behind a recording so you can't actually get your issue resolved with a live person? When you give your bank info to a company such as Match.com, are they allowed to just pass it on to a company like Synapse?
