NTI Central.org is an organization that professes to be there for you as a job seeker with disabilities. The truth in my case is that NTI cares nothing for it's prospective job seekers and is ill equipped to meet the special needs of those with disabilities. NTI Central was established as agency to screen, train, and place individuals with limitations and disabilities as a means to supplement their income and enroll in the Ticket To Work program. Your enrollment in the TTW program is ultimately meant to provide real income potential and relieve some of the burden on the nation's disability fund. I attended 4 days of classes with NO PAY by attending an instructor led class for approximately 4 1/2 hours each  with Intro and General Certification classes.

On 2-6-13, I sent an email to training requesting additional information as to my next steps in retaking a portion of my General Certification class in which one of my scores came up short. I was sent an email by Michelle Frederick who promptly stated, " I understand if you do not feel that we are meeting your expectations and would like to pursue work at home opportunities with another organization. As you know from the Introduction to NTI class, we are a non-profit and as such, our resources are limited. We certainly do the best we can with the resources we have."

I never stated I wanted to work with another agency but in light of Michelle's message my confidence in NTI was not good at this point. I requested to contact Michelle's supervisor to voice my concerns. Michelle declined and stated I could direct any concerns to their HR department. Michelle then stated I would not be a good fit for NTI and would note my file as such.  All I wanted was some simple answers as to my next steps and what I received was a cavalier dismissal. For those of you reading this be aware of NTI Central. They will tell you in class they are there to help you. The truth is they are ill equipped bigots that have no respect for people with disabilities!

I'm not sure what happened to this man, but I worked for the IRS through NTI and have nothing but good things to say about NTI.  The IRS, however, were a little hard to work for as their accuracy acceptability is 97% and up.  Anything lower than that is failing.  And I wouldn't exactly call the bulk of the supervisors nice. But the pay made all those inconveniences very worth it.  The pay and benefits were unbelievably awesome!  I would definitely recommend giving NTI a try.
