NuHouse Properties builds inferior incomplete homes false promises victimized many consumers .....

Before closing, we were threatened with legal action if we did not close on our new home. NuHouse told us that they had the certificate of occupancy and we had to close. If not, we would be liable for all financial costs. We were told all problems would be rapidly responded to and repaired. Lies!! We were provided with a home buyers warraanty by 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty company and assured that they were there to protect us from any financial costs for catastrophic occurances.

More lies!!! Neither NuHouse or HBW has done much for us. NuHouse has failed to repair any of the defects to our satisfaction. To their side they have replaced the ceramic tile kitchen floor two times. Each time, they have managed to make a complete mess of the entire home with dust from the removal of the floor. Two times and the floor is still not installed correctly. There are many 'toe jammers'. This is the term used by the NuHouse building superintendent.

Other problems, are the countertops in the kitchen, also ceramic tile have been re-grouted twice improperly. Doors do not fit correctly, squeaks in the floors, etc. Letters to the builder and Home Buyers Warranty have not gotten any satisfaction with the lack of quality and materials in the construction.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty tried denying our claim too

Avoid arbitration with HBW...they use an arbitration service that is friendly to their industry and it's NOT neutral. We only got HBW to accept our warranty claim because we found out about a regulation that forbade them from forcing us into binding arbitration because we had an FHA loan, and FHA does not permit this except as an option. The regulation is in the "Code of Federal Regulations", Title 24, 203.204(g). If you have an FHA loan you don't have to arbitrate. The home building and warranty industries are trying to get this removed so they can force FHA buyers into arbitration too. After we got hold of the right guy at HUD/FHA, they called HBW and suddenly HBW accepted our claim. I got this info from www.hadd.com Sounds like you should file a complaint there, too.

At least, be glad your home's defects don't seem to be really serious, but you still should get a NEW home since that's what you paid for, not some cobbled up half baked band aid repair.

There is always someone who comes along and thinks your complaint is invalid because they didn't have a problem. These people need to realize that some people DO have a problem with their home not being right, and the builder is supposed to fix it whether Joe Blow down the street is plenty happy or not.

They have gone out of their way to make us happy as customers

I am also a customer of Nuhouse and live next to Mr. Head. Nuhouse also replaced or floor due to a mistake made by a subcontractor. We have had no problems with Nuhouse returning to our home and repairing anything. They have gone out of their way to make us happy as customers and we are proud of our home. We were happy with the building process as Nuhouse made several changes for us at no charge or gripes and made us feel like we were building a custom home. I felt compelled to write in as Mr. Head has his displeasure with the his product posted via a sign on his front porch. He has been door to door trying to rally other home owners to join his cause. I understand from other nieghbors they have sent him away also.
