Numto Henry, Cameroon Zip Code:00237, Pet Carrier Company, Cedric Lutes, sold me a blue hyacinth macaw, I shipped $75.00, they wanted more forcalifornia insurance on bird, I told them no after they guaranteed me 24 hr. delivery to my door. Angwin California
I saw an ad on Kijiji Okc for blue hyacinth macaws for $450.00, $75.00 shipping. I answered the ad and he called me promising me a healthy bird delivered to me in 24 hrs, and I could make payments to him, but shipping $$had to be taken to Walmart and sent a moneygram TO Duala, Cameroon, their home base through Numtor, Henry. I was called at midnight to make sure I would be home at 7:00 am to accept the bird, at 3:45 am I received an email saying they had run into a problem with Calif, insurance and needed $150.00 more, I said no, contact the legal owner for the money, Cedric Lutes emailed me about 15 times making me feel guilty for not sending the extra money, I told him God was watching him and he should be ashamed and I was going to contact police about this scam, that he was a liar and there was No bird at all. He emailed me back and said he would tell that i was trying to get the bird for free and to go ahead.. He stopped emailing me..

Reasonable fee?

I posted last night, but I don't think it went through. I for one was extremely offended that someone thought they could get a hyacinth for $450 and better yet make payments. A proper cage for a hyacinth would cost more than that, much less anything else, and let me tell you, this bird deserves it's very own bird proof room with everything a bird could desire in it. This bird, is like, one of the holy grails of the bird world, LOL. They are like 10,000+ USD. Does $450 sound reasonable now? So either this person DOESN'T know anything about birds, and would be wrong for getting one, or they thought they could pull one over on everyone else. I thought the yorkie and bulldog ones and such were bad enough, but a hyacinth? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I think most of these are found with other ads? If the price isn't conforming in the other ranges, it should tell them something. They just think they're going to get something worth alot to the rest of us cheap or for free alot of the time, and if they used their heads, they would know better. I even recently spotted one of these ads, know how I know? Hyacinth, $1200, badly worded english and involved another country. Why is it so hard?
Everything about it screamed FAKE, we shouldn't be purchasing animals if we don't know anything about them. If you want something cheap, take the risk and go to your local shelter. I'm sorry I'm venting, but geez, this is starting to bug me, LOL. If they can't afford the animal from a reputable breeder, they probably can't afford to care for the animal PROPERLY. There are a few who want to rescue, or do the right thing, but it is OUT OF CONTROL. And people just keep doing it over, and over, and over. And even alot of the sites have scam alerts, having to do with this very thing, people are just not paying attention. *just my opinions*

THIS IS A VARIATION OF THE CLASSIC NIGERIAN PET SCAM WHERE THE NIGERIANS CUT AND PASTE A CUTE LITTLE ANIMAL OR MAYBE A BIRD ON THEIR WEBSITE AND THEY SAY THAT YOU CAN ADOPT THIS FOR A REASONABLE FEE, MAYBE FREE....
BUT NONE OF THE ANIMALS EXIST AND NOTHING ELSE ON THAT SITE IS REAL EXCEPT THE METHOD THAT THEY HAVE FOR YOU TO SEND MONEY.
YOU WILL GET NOTHING IN RETURN FOR SENDING YOUR MONEY BECAUSE
IT IS A NIGERIAN SCAM.
IT IS NOT REAL.
IT IS A NIGERIAN INTERNET SCAM.
AVOID THIS SCAM IN THE FUTURE.
