The Nuvo H2O citrus waten softener simply doesn't soften the water.  My dish soap, bath soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent don't create suds as it would with a regular water softener.  I had the indoor and outdoor water tested for hardness and they were the same.  Unfortunately, it was after the 90 days return policy.

I'm very disappointed because the unit filter is small and doesn't require much space.  I also liked the idea of not using salt or potassium.  This has been money "down the drain."

I had the Nuvo H2) installed in a NEW home during construction, so calcium deposits in the pipes is not the problem.  If the Nuvo H2O wasn't designed to soften the water, then why is it advertised as such?

Sorry you're not happy with your Nuvo system.  Here are some things to consider.

The Nuvo system won't reduce the minerals in your household water-  the Nuvo system merely keeps the minerals from hardening up and creating scale.  That's why the TDS readings you obtained were the same pre- and post installation of the Nuvo.

Your pipes may have so much residual calcium/magnesium build-up in them that the acid given off by the Nuvo is being diluted by the time the water hits you in the shower (or washing machine.)

I wouldn't "bail" on the Nuvo system yet.  The science is true to their product.  I use citric acid powder all the time around the house for cleaning water stains (shower, toilet, sinks, etc.)  It works like a charm and isn't so strong that I'm risking life and limb using it (as opposed to sulfuric acid.)

PS-  I don't work for Nuvo and i don't own one.  I think they're overpriced for such a simple design.
