I moved into my new rental house and had the power turned on. The bills were decent and everything was fine. I live in vegas so we started to use the AC in May which we still had the old meter. On 5/13 2011 the meter was read at 1,387 KWH and the bill was $181.65 which was not bad. On 6/14/2011 the meter was read at 2,043 KWH and the bill was $262.74 still not bad for summer. A new Smart Meter was installed 7/13 was the read of the new meter at 3,180 KWH for a whopping $408.25 and on 8/12/2011 read for 3,625 KWH for a $466.86 bill.

Thinking it was the AC usage I taped up all the AC Control panels and turned the AC completly off after the $466.86 power bill. On 9/12/2011 the reading was 2,968 KWH at 396 bucks how is that would be impossible. The entire family sweated day and night with no AC surely the bill would have dropped to around 2,000 KWH around $260 but it didnt. With the AC off and taped up Octobers bill was $350 and the weather cooled off. Something is wrong please help. Novembers bill is again $350.

I called to complain twice and the customer servic rep told me Vegas is hot your gonna have higher bills. She wasn't from Vegas and said that the only thing she could do was set up a appointment for me. The appointment was for a rep to come out and test all my appliances. No one called no one ever came by. My current bill is $357.51 im very afraid to turn on the heater. Smart Meter is a rip off.
