Complaint Review: nw natural gas

so i am a repo guy that "goes" out of town alot for a long period of time.sometimes for 3months or more..i recently moved in to a new home in the clackamas area and had to sign up for nw natural gas a local gas company..i had a long stint out on the road and just got back from spokane wa and i had a knock on my door and it was the gas company wanting me to pay my bill so i went in to get my check book came out and he had already shut my gas off and told me to call the office may i remind you this is over a $18 dollar bill. when i tried to get him to turn back on the gas he said "no"and i said well you turned it off why cant you turn it on!he said now i would have to pay a reconect fee of $50 dollars.

i told him fine turn it on then he said i would also need to put up a $100 deposit on top of the fee and pay the $18.so an $18 dollar bill goes to $168 dollars what a scam..so i asked him why he knocked on the door and he said to collect money.then i asked him why did he not take my money he told me that he is only allowed to wait 4mins.i had to get dressed to come out to pay him this company are scamers and theifs all i can say is beware of nw natural gas company.so he left and i called the office and they think its funny that people get upset and they have control over the whole county.all of this for$18 bucks.these people have no cust service at all..i called the ladie at cust service to have him turn it back on she said you have to make an appointment when he is still OUT FRONT if i wanted it back on today thats an extra $50 bucks so now my bill went from $168 to $218 all this over an $18 bucks.lets hope that no one ever has to go thru this with this bad company there employes dont care and there service sucks
