NWB Restaurant NWB restaurant in Plainfield extorts money on the check Plainfield Illinois
First time visiting this restaurant in downtown Plainfield Illinois. The food was awful and the service very slow. so when our party of three left, we found that they added 20 percent to the bill for gratuity. Now, the tip should be at the discretion of the customer. However the manager/bartender on duty named Matt did not agree. He said he had no time to discuss it and would not delete this extortion addition to our bill. Consequently we could not leave without paying extortion money.
In addition, Matt screamed at us to "pay the entire bill and get out". By now my wife is in tears and I am a senior citizen. The stress of everyone in the establishement watching while Matt berated us was enough to deeply disturb us, and certainly ruined our evening.
So if you want some abuse from Matt and want to pay extortion money, you know where to find it while you eat a mediocre meal.
Management did nothing and owners did not respond when I tried to contact them.
