I received a call on my cell phone at work about a payday loan on 06/22/2010.  The individual reported his name as James Thomas and said that he was an officer.  He said that I owed on a payday loan with cashnetusa and that the company filed a lawsuit against me.  He also stated a case number to me.  James Thomas stated that I took out a loan for $225.00 and that I still owed on the loan.  According to him, the current amount I owed was $586.00.  He gave me an option to make a partial payment through Western Union on 06/22/2010 for $293.00.  James gave me an option to pay the other $293.00 on my payday, which was 06/25/2010.  He also stated that if did not pay that he would take it up with higher authorities and that I would be prosecuted and someone would be sent to pick me up.

I had a couple of payday loans out not to long ago and figured I may have forgotten to pay on one of them when I received this call.  I made the payment on 06/22/2010 for $293.00.  After making the paymenl, he told me to call back with the MCTR number and fax the receipt over to him.  After getting off of work, I went to the cashnetusa website to talk to a representative.  They informed me that I filled out an application for a loan but never actually borrowed money.  Based on this information, I realized I was the victim of a payday loan scam.  I tried to stop the transfer with Western Union but they told me that the money had already been received.  James Thomas must have found a way to hack into my computer because he already had information available about me when he called.
