Complaint Review: NYC Casting Productions

NYC Casting Productions Hired Me as an Extra & Told Me to Pay Before Receiving Work New York New York

I responded to an ad seeking extras for Orange is the New Black. Upon arriving I auditioned for a man name James who informed me that shooting would begin next Thursday and to expect a follow-up from a woman named Chelsy. When I attempted to get more information about the shoot, James told me I would need to pay $145 to be added to a database. Sounded like a scam to me so I left without paying. Upon doing some research I discovered that all OITNB extras are acquired via Central Casting. I emailed Chelsy's assistant, a woman named Jennifer Yates, and told them I knew it was a scam and to not contact me again. Later that evening I received 5 phone calls in a row from a PA number (267 293 0464). When I checked my voicemail, I discovered I had a message from Chelsy that was nearly two minutes long of her chiding me for accusing her of being a scam artist. This is clearly not the behavior of a legitimate casting agent.

SCAM "NYC Casting Productions"-Report ASAP!!!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, August 29, 2015

NYC Casting Productions Inc. are complete con artists and they SCAM for a living. They stole and ran from me as well. Kenny/James goes by several alias names and his number is disconnected shortly after you give him your credit card number (SIM card/disposable phone).

Chelsy and James are scum so let's do something about it. Please do the following so we can collectively file a civil lawsuit against them and recover our money plus DAMAGES and other people are not taken advantage of. In order to do so everyone scammed by them or not scammed by them because they realized it was a scam and didn't give their credit card info out, should also do the following so we can prosecute these thieves:

*****File a police report IN person at any NY precinct. In case you don't have this info here is their address, email address, craigslist posting ID number and fake phone number which is all info to include in the report because it can be tracked back to a physical computer/hp address. Info that will help investigators. The Craigslist ID and address are very important to include!

39 West 29th st. 6th floor (reception only knows 'James' as 'Kenny')
chelsy.nyccasting@gmail.com
Craigslist ID: 5171061290
(929) 327-5315
Goes by alias': James McGregor, Kenny, Chelsy Vento

*****Call the Manhattan District Attorney's office and file a 'citizens action' complaint by calling tel: (212) 335-8900. This is the Financial Fraud investigation number. Its very quick!

*****File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. See complaint link below:
bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started

*****Dispute the charge with your credit card company and tell them it is a Fraudulent charge. The credit card company will flag them and it will be investigated and the more reported, the stronger the case.

*****I suggest canceling the credit card you gave them or watch every transaction closely as these people will scam again.

*Keep your receipt James/Kenny gave you and all other records you may have. Check your credit card for charges you did NOT make and report it to the cops, District Attorneys office and your credit card company and tell them it was NYC Casting Productions Inc. (Phony company).

Once we get enough people to file those complaints then those offices will take action faster. I was told approximately 8 complaints but more will only make this case a higher priority given the high frequency of complaints in such a short time the DA's office will investigate if they get several complaints in a short time span. NYC Castings website lists movies and logos of brands they have never done work for which is fraud as well.

I'm sure "James" and "Chelsy" are reading these complaints so file as quickly as possible before they change gears.

Power by numbers! Please, pleeeeease take a minute to file the complaint with the District Attorney's office, Police and Better Business Bureau whether you gave them your money or not, complain. The DA's office and police are top priority of them all! We can make the difference!

Then we will cast them in the real...Orange is the New Black!!! We will get you my pretty....
