NYC Finance Department - Dunscomm Fraudulent billing and interest charges, ripoff New York New York
NYC Finance Dept. does collection of fines for various city agencies. I can only speak about fraudulent and padded billing for penalties for violations at the NYC Environmental Control Board (civil court for Building, Fire, Sanitation etc. Code cases.)
NYC Finance Dept (and their hired collection agency Dunscomm) are sending out "bills" for overdue payment of civil penalties. They are charging 9% yearly interest for those penalties.
RIPOFF--They can only legally charge interest after they have docketed the case and filed a judgement against the "consumer." They are charging the 9% on cases for which they have not gone through the appropriate legal channels to do so.
